"Optimization" should be implemented in the next patch!

Optimization is (in my opinion) the only way to remove/reduce the enormous ammount of RNG in the game.

This is how I think it should work:

We should be able to recalibrate one Stat/Talent/Mod for "free", like we do now, but then be able to recalibrate everything else at an increasing cost, not just "normal" materials, but also something like the Division Tech from TD1.

The first "extra" recalibration on an item would cost 100 DT, the second 150 DT, and the third 200 DT.

To get the Division Tech, it could/should work something like this:

Every week there's a "playlist" of activities/missions to do.
This "playlist" would be Account wide, and we would get 100 Div Tech if we did all on Hard, 150 Div Tech if we did it on Challenging, and 200 Div Tech if we did it on Heroic. And a diferent quantity if we did some activities in one difficulty, and others on another.

If we did it on Hard, we could do them again on Challenging or Heroic, and gain the diference of Div Tech from one tier to the other.

This way we could get God rolls everywhere, but it wouldn't be instantly, because we would have a limit on how much we could recalibrate every week, and we would still need to get the items, and have the stats/talents on the library.

Also, with something like this, there would be a reason to play ALL of the missions, at least on a week to week rotation...

Come on, man. The OP put a fair amount of effort into their idea and then posted it. I have seen many posts by you that are filled with the knowledge and experience you have with The Division.

I agree that the grind is getting a little tiresome. At nearly 700 hours I have a single Baker's Dozen with maxed stats and nothing else. I have been farming ARs in the world for weeks with no luck. I have two or three pieces of armor with maxed stats and nothing more. The crafting table is useless for the purposes of outfitting one's agent. I crafted 10 ARs last night and one popped up with 3% stability. Come on! My agent is level 40 with 245 SHD levels. 3%! Something has to give with regard to this grind. I don't know that Division Tech is the answer, but something needs to be adjusted.

If the level cap is raised at some point, I wouldn't mind OP's suggestion too much.

The thought of players calibrating their own gear to a god roll is not a good idea. Even if it costs a lot and will demand a lot of farming.

If you put a fair amount of time into the game and use the targeted loot areas, the game is not that difficult. Even on heroic.

Have patience and be smart. Then you will be fine.

OPs idea is good. It makes max rolled gear accessible for casual-core players. This means more viable builds in heroics instead of hard carries. More viable raiders, etc. Noone should have been happy about the roll-backs in pve since it meant more of our teammates and mm squadmates would have better gear and be more useful. It's such an elitist attitude to not want other players to have good gear just because they aren't no-lifers. Td2 can always put grindy checklists for you with some sort of exclusive apparel so you can be a special snow flake, but good gear should be more accessible for players with less time.

If instead of taking the cheap lazy way in this game with GE, manhunts, etc. that just involves regrinding old content, they could focus on cranking out new content. Then they wouldn't feel the need to keep loot rng high. They wouldn't need to rollback half of their endgame players (and lose a bunch more who followed them out). They wouldn't need to focus on only finding bugs that benefit players while ignoring bugs that ruin gameplay.

Destiny has 6 raids, strikes, gambit, numerous pvp modes, several campaigns, open world events, etc. Obviously I don't find the core gameplay loop as fun as td2. The game (destiny) is much more accessible to players of all levels and play style. I got to light level 960's by playing almost only pvp. Why can't players get geared up playing only conflict?

This development team needs to be benched and ubi needs to bring in the A squad to revive the game. Every move in the right direction since WoNY dropped had seemed like too little, too late (the roll-backs magnified every problem too). All the balancing on the world is meaningless without content.

The Optimization station won't help you when you get rainbow loots anyway. It is not the answer tbh.

The watch is the Optimization already.
And really... you no need to be max out like a rambo to play this game, but i agree.. it's nice when work pay off... i just played 7h... heroic and challenging.. i got banana only.

OPs idea isn't perfect. I think if you find say a pefect glass cannon with rainbow rolls, you should be able to recalibrate to a different roll (all 3 rolls) and increase those rolls as well. Using a credit system that is time limited over several weeks, allows ppl to feel progressive over time. Simply increasing quality of loot drops is limited by rng. It also means a few lucky ppl get godrolls and others leave out of frustration. A more equitable and accessible loot is needed to maintain a large and mostly casual (most players are casuals) playerbase.

This is coming from a guy with 800+ hours, 150 y1 raid clears, a sub-9 raid time and nearly min/maxed gear. I want my fellow players to have good sets. I don't care if they didn't have to grind as hard for it.

As I said previously, this game can't move forward with the current devs. They need to be benched, until a good team takes over and has the game in a good spot.

problem is the game isn't hard at al, the game is just super repetitive, and grinding another currency will undo the **** RNG this game gives, because you are grinding toward certainty, i don't enjoy senseless grinding in the slightest, there is no real "hard" content anymore in the game that requires specfic godroles, but the feeling of working for 2 - 3 weeks with maybe a 0.1% upgrade is very... dis-satisfying so i defenitly will vote for OP's idea as this is the reason i play Division 1 and not division 2
