Bought Gold Edition yesterday, having fun so far in campaign but bugs some of which affect game are surprising to find.
I could forgive and even laugh at things like Street Signs where there are no intersections and usually the wrong street too.
But when I tried to open a locked door only to have it not open, it was unlocked just stayed shut and did not move denying me access to whatever was inside. Once talking to a Gear Vendor, all the graphics except my character disappeared until I stopped talking to them. AI enemies getting stuck hiding in some fights unless I reposition and they are not Surpressed. The Gear in the Reward Vendor, I take it and sell it all off to another Vendor, it reappears in the Reward Vendor inventory.
There are certainly some bugs still in the game. It hasn't been patched for quite some time and they are not going to anymore. There are minor little things you'll see but very few big things; particularly compared to other games and even TD2.
I have over 3.500 hours in the game across 2 accounts and perhaps I have just gotten used to many of the minor issues, but I don't notice a lot of those things.
I will say the reward vendor isn't a bug per se. It is because of the version of the game you bought. Effectively, they didn't want it where you get rid of those items, and then want them later for other characters as you level up.
Locked doors, I'd have to see when/where you are looking. Some doors are locked and can be opened with keys you pick up during game play. Others are locked only to be opened by game play by completing certain missions or tasks.
The hidden/stuck enemies does happen occasionally. I see it most while doing High Value Targets (HVT's) and occasionally in the Underground. I think I may trigger it to happen sometimes as I play with the D3 build with the shield. I'll often position myself close to the door and when it opens, I start mowing people down. I've had HVT's fail because the door closed again with enemies still inside. Sometimes grenades or sticky bombs will still work and can kill them.
Now, all that is not to say there isn't bugs. Around version 1.8 or so, there was a delay/lag introduced that when I double tap the use key on First Aid, it often doesn't take it. I never, ever had that problem until then. Now, I have to map the key when I use my D3 so it is set to instantly use.
The biggest gameplay bug that drives many people friggin' crazy is the legendary missions grenade "pre-stagger". In this, the grenadier enemy takes aim to shoot. But, before there is even the red grenade "warning" circle on the ground, you stand up, take damage, THEN the circle and grenade appear about the same time. Legendary missions can be hard enough without that..
There are also a few glass walls here and there but TD1 never had anywhere even close to as many as TD2. I find the Underground has more than about anywhere else I go.
It is a hellafun game. I guess that is why I have so many hours in it (3,500+) and still playing it daily.
The Locked Door is in a building on the West side of 8th Avenue between W 23rd and W 24th Streets. I unlocked the door but it would not open.
I also got a screenshot of one JTF standing on another with the top one's legs blended into the bottom one's torso.
Today I had a safehouse where the Mission Officer voicelines played after the talking animation was done out of sync.
Sometimes when I look at Inventory, sometimes the items do not show.
I will look this weekend and see what it does for me at that door. But, if you unlocked it with a consumable key, then it should have opened. I agree.Originally Posted by GeardoTheVet Go to original post
I see corpses blended together, but I can't recall live NPC's exhibiting an issue with the collision modeling.
I don't play with the audio unless playing in a group. I generally have music playing.
Now, the inventory in the game has always been a chore, less than TD2, but I do have a few issues here and there. One that happens a lot is if I am too fast at deconstructing, opening crate, etc. It will sometime stick at that screen. You either have to hit I to go back to inventory, or map or some other screen. It is annoying that often out in the open world, it will needlessly hide the video from behind your inventory and replace it with the black screen. But, if you are in the BoO, the flickering lights, or people doing jumping jacks in the background, those stay showing through just fine. I have always wished that was a manual toggle instead. Speaking of wishes, I have always wished that when you sort gear by something like name, it should stay sorted that way.
Hopefully you'll enjoy the game in spite of what you are seeing. I hope you don't get hung up on it. Most of these don't seem like they would affect actual game play. When the game was released in early 2016, I am not exaggerating to say that once I got to Manhattan, I could not finish a mission between crashes. It was annoying, but the game just seemed soooo fun. Fairly quickly they released a series of patches, each making it more stable than before. By ~1.4 or so it ran quite well.
Good luck agent. :-)
