I know he has at least one. I feel he should all of the possible 3-hit combos as the would address the basics and help make him feel more like a swordsman/swordmaster.Originally Posted by Sweetcam Go to original post
I see what you mean. Personally I think that the three hit combos that utilise all combinations of heavy/light feel a bit to similar to other heroes and I wouldn't like to see something like that happen to warden, since we already have heroes with that sort of identity i.e. orrochi and nuxia. I would like to see some more play involving soft feints tho. I think with soft feints, superior blocks, variable timing on attacks there would be an opportunity there to animate things revolving around half swording and other techniques that warden identifies with in some of the official trailers/cinimatics and suchOriginally Posted by Soldier_of_Dawn Go to original post
While we are entitled to our opinion, I feel that having a complete set of attack chains shouldn't be seen as a form identity because all of the Wulin, the Year 3 heroes, and some of the reworked heroes have a full set of some type whether it is 2-hit, 3-hit, an infinite type, etc. and I'm sure most of the community doesn't think they are similar because of it, otherwise we would see it in the feedback. We normally see the opposite were players ask for more attack chains for certain heroes with little to no objections. Kit wise, what makes heroes unique are their special tools, their animations, the timings, the properties that go with them, and their overall playstyle.Originally Posted by Sweetcam Go to original post
Heroes with limited chain sets tend to be restricted and more predictable as they will end up repeating the same mix-ups and relying on the same tools more often than they would like. Take Shinobi for example. Many feel he/she needs a light-to-heavy chain to access better mixups. Others feel that Gladiator needs a heavy-to-light chain. Similar things have been said about other heroes before they got reworks that included full chain sets like Warlord, Valkyrie, etc. It's better to have a full set of chains so players would be more concerned with the chain they need for a certain situation rather than working around a limited chain set and being easier to read in the process. Full chain sets not only improves attack variety but helps heroes adapt.
The only reason I would put a full chain set on hold for the Warden is only to avoid making the best duelist in the game even stronger until everyone else catches up. However, in the interest of making him more of a swordmaster, a full chain set would cover the basics and wouldn't involve completely new animations(that's assuming new stuff is asking for too much from the current manpower of the developers).
That would be interesting to see in TG, at least.Originally Posted by Sweetcam Go to original post
What?
Warden is already OP and you want to add more?
Look, if you take away his Shoulder bash, then he's nothing. This is what gives him his edge, his shoulder bash mixup. When you get your enemy in oos, it's a real danger and guaranteed double light, grab or heavy, most of the time. The mix up on the shoulder charge is one of the best in the game.
He has a two hit side combo with his double light.
He has superior top block attack into a light attack.
He has a light, light, heavy combo.
He has a light, heavy, heavy combo. He also has his unblockable, chain, top finisher.
He already has a great arsenal.
Now Lawbringer, he BADLY needs a rework like a health and shove nerf.
Yes the whole point is about nerf the shoulderbash and improve the swordplay with combos, mix up and mechanics like all the other vanguards
About the top unblockable it is a threat only if you are OOS, if not you can stop it with a light so no really viable
Still his side lights are slower than the other vanguards light ( I think 520/530 ms)
Also I don't think he is OP right now cause hitikori i way better than him in a 1vs1 scenario cause his 50/50 is more difficult to counter
