Single biggest immersive addition to solo play? Helicopter insertion/extraction...

Watching Gascan's great video (below), reminds me of my own co-op experience in Wildlands... where one of the team usually takes on the duty of helicopter pilot. For some missions like taking convoys, he'll drop us ahead on the road, and then dust off to provide air support while we do the dirty work on the ground. Once the convoy is secure, we tag the resources and he comes in to pick us up and we're out of there. In and out!

Insertion and extraction is a huge part of a spec ops experience, and is simply not possible in solo play, where you're the operator and the pilot all in one.

    MGS got this right.

How hard would it be to have a helicopter come with a pilot and you give it basic instructions like fly at low, medium or high altitude, and way points to your destination. And maybe even an option for exiting that includes (touch down, fast rope, or parachute). When you need extraction, you pop a flare and that brings your helicopter/pilot in for a pickup? Maybe the big birds even come with NPC gunners.

That would add so much to the game, and probably not very difficult to implement. Yet I'm sure it is just another good idea on a heap of good ideas that will never see the light of day.

I agree this would be phenomenal. If Ubi were to use this type of system it would make them so much money.... assuming they used one of their studios that is competent enough to even code a helicopter that doesn't start falling to pieces where it spawns or at least knows which way is up.

(Not my screenshot, but I've personally experienced this to many times to recall)

Oh... you thought... haha! Yeah, there is no way in hell, heaven, earth, or known & unknown existence that this could every be done in Breakpoint.

It is possible. Breakpoint is all about high technology being abused, so just change the storyline. Nomad gets shot down, knocked out, kidnapped and tossed into a VR simulation that's indistinguishable from reality. At the end of Episode 3 he gets out, and most of Breakpoint's problems can be neatly retconned.

Skell's the real bad guy, Mads is the warden of the VR prison located in Erewhon, Walker's a good guy fighting a guerilla war and the drones are still in development, with maybe one unfinished prototype of each type to fight during campaign missions.

I'm still gonna say not possible. The amount of overhaul the world, flight, and AI would require to make this just possible, let alone to make it of any quality higher than barley functioning... Not in Breakpoint, and not by Ubi.

Supply drops would be handy, not overly realistic but handy to switch up tactics and supplies on the fly.

Man this sounds like MGS in Auroa.

    Awesome suggestion!

As long as........................................the NPC pilot didn't behave like all the human jerks I flew with in various Battlefield MP games, where the pilot would suddenly eject and parachute in without telling the rest of us "the plan"!

I would love helo insertions and extractions, but I fear that would need to be something that was added earlier in the development, as one of those core game mechanics. But supply drops would be easier to add, simply by using the existing supply drones, but on top of random ones, there are ones that are controlled by the outcasts, that delivers ammo and supplies. After all, they all former Skell employees, so they should be more than capable of hijacking and rewiring a drone, for their own use.
