Kyd himself just confirmed it on Twitter which is where I first heard about it just now, it's definitely true. Honestly, I think this news is the most exciting part for me about Valhalla so far. No knock on Balfe who was great, but Kyd is the AC GOAT. His scores in the original AC and the Ezio trilogy were amazing. So pumped!!!

    Holy Lord Almighty.

    All these names working together!?

I don't think I can handle it. The music in these games is already so freaking holy amazing. But they're bringing back the old school composer together with Origins and someone who worked on Vikings.

Make no mistake, this **** is going to be lit!

    IKR!!!

It's like the ultimate fan service possible. The composer of the golden era + the one who wrote the best ones ever since + the guy who was behind the music of a successful show about vikings and whose music was on such high regard.

Let's hope this is one of many great choices Ubisoft Montreal made for Valhalla. I also read that social stealth will be back, and different dialogue options will all be based on Eivor's own character, so no more empty shell. This all sounds very promising indeed!

    Song for the game

    Dear Ubisoft,

Can you add this song to the soundtrack please? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w9uy4Ip5Zs . Blind Guardian's - Valhalla.

    Thank you

    Sounds like a perfect combo, can’t imagine the soundtrack will disappoint anyone. Though i do wish more Viking and historical inspired bands and musicians were involved. Y’all already posted some great examples, but don’t forget the new(ish) kids on the block;

So its true, this soundtrack will be phenomenal! Two of my favourite AC Composers are back

I hope Jesper Kyd is indeed back and not just named because Ezio's family is going to be featured again haha. Out of which, I think their work might be like this

    Sarah/Jesper for ambient music
    Einar for cutscenes.
I know the ambient music from Sarahs work. What i meant with my post was the ambient music in general. The Ambient music was in the Ezio Triology permanent there and played always. But since AC3 most locations are silent and play sometimes a soundtrack but not always. Even when i turn the music option to high i dont hear the ambient music to often. Wich is a sad because every game has such good soundtracks.

I really hope we hear Jespers Unique style in this game again. His mix between old and modern instruments is so great. Access the Animus from the first game is still on of my all time favourites of the AC soundtrack.

I'm really happy with them working on the soundtrack. I give a lot of importance to muse while I'm playing because it contribues to the atmosphere and I really trust them

This really is an all star team.

Kyd manages to so poignantly capture the spirit of Assassin's Creed, and Schachner does an incredible job matching the tone of the setting.

I'm not familiar with Selvik's work as well (though I'll have to change that now), but I think his resume speaks well enough for itself- as does everyone else's, of course.

I think we're really going to be in for a treat with this soundtrack.

As much as I loved the theme, I have to agree with you on the Odyssey part. I really grew to hate the Odyssey varient due to it being slapped on the equipment screen. Every time you entered the menus it played... It was overused and in doing so, it ruined it completely. I was fine with the theme being used in other AC games but the way they used it in Odyssey just put me off completely.

I understand that Ezio's Family could be extended to the Assassins as a whole... But really it has been used soooo damn much. I'm fine with it being incorporated into the theme but to stick the song in a game menu?

I hope Valhalla's music is very heavily influenced by Norse with a bit of an edge. The game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a good source of inspiration.

    I guess we shall see.
