Brand new game won’t work | Forums

So I got a brand new copy of odyssey.
I installed it, loaded it up, picked my settings and then clicked new game. The PS4 said the disk is damaged or dirty and ejected the disk. I cleaned the disk (even though it wasn’t needed and tried again. Same thing happened.

Things iv tried
•reinstalled the game
•rebuilt the data base of the PS4
•reinstalled the latest firmware of PS4
•tested All my games (they work)
•tested on a friends PS4 same thing happened


Iv contacted the store I bought the game from but will be sometime before I get a response due to covid 19.

So anything else I could try? Anyone else have this issue?

BD Dics PS4 can Unusable , not from damage , dirty or scratch .
Go to store , this about "Claiming for damaged goods" from store.

Welcome to the forums! I would recommend reaching out to the retailer you purchased it from and exchanging it out for a different copy. If your PS4 can read other discs without issue, it seems it might be an issue with the disc itself, maybe a manufacturing defect.
