    Aiming and cover improvements

    Hi guys

I'd really like to suggest a couple of minor gameplay changes that are easy to implement but would make a world of difference to how intuitive the game plays and feels to control.

The first relates to taking cover, and also the way in which the user can select the camera position of being to the left or right of Nomad. When in cover, Nomad can be facing left or right relative to the camera position and the barricade. What i'd recommend is that when entering cover, the player will always be facing the direction that the camera position (when not in cover) corresponded to. So if the (out of cover) camera was on Nomad's right shoulder, player should be facing right upon entering cover. If the camera had been switched to the left beforehand, Nomad would enter the left facing cover state. I believe this would make the best use out of the automatic / sticky cover system... I accept that a manual cover system isn't workable due to the lack of available button inputs on console.

I'd really also love to see a return to a default aim state, much like Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. In that game, if you pressed the aim button / trigger, the player would always enter third person aiming, with the option to aim down sighting systems as a manual toggle. This meant that the player could always rely on what the aim button did, even if they entered first person the last time they aimed. This is not the case in Breakpoint - the aim function will remember what the player did last time, meaning that if they aimed down a highly magnified precision optic this will also be selected in an unexpected close quarters engagement (which isn't ideal). My recommendation is to implement a settings option of 'Always default to preferred aim style when aiming *Yes/No* (this should suffice because the player can already select their default preference, and whether or not it applies to the currently selected weapon etc.)

Summary - changes ensure the player can rely on cover direction and aiming states at all times

Hope you can consider these small changes, and that you're coping with the current pandemic OK

    - Alex

I would like to see an option to eliminate automatic camera swapping all together, so we have full control over the camera at all times.

For your second suggestion, I think options for that already exists.

Yes we're on the same page - the implementation would eliminate auto camera side switching altogether, completely synchronising the 'out of cover' and 'in cover' camera states.

As for the second suggestion - while you're correct in that an 'option' is there, it only applies to when you first boot up the game (on console anyway), and whether the preference applies to all weapons or not. There's no way of preventing going into first person if you used first person the last time you aimed, unfortunately. Personally I try to remember to deselect first person after every use, but that's not ideal for frantic firefights or situations. Who knows, it might just be a glitch because the option is worded as if this is the desired effect.
