But back to the topic, I did play DZ solo and met some nice people there, ofc the typical rogues too, I just don't care much if they kill me. Sadly in Div 2 it's much harder to fight back against more than 1 player, unlike it was in Div 1 back in the day, when knowledge about your skills, procs, surroundings and timing things mattered..
I always went solo in the NY DZ... but in DC it's not the same anymore. I had a lot of fun with the original, especially with the Dark Zone. But yes, "sadly", that's gone.

    Yep.

I think they know just how badly they fckd up now. I would love to know who thought that having 3 separate DZ's, each the size of postage stamps, was a good idea........

I think that's down to the devs going back to their original concept and idea's, I did some research on the Division 1, when it was firts advertised, through all the trailers, the interviews, screen shots/skills, literally everything (Before the delay when the game was put back by almost a year)

Most of what we have in TD2 was said/advertised/trailered and spoken about for TD1 and that includes 3 Dark Zones.

This image here was from the very first orginal TD1 trailer

    https://cdn.division.zone/uploads/20...dark-zones.jpg (note 3 dark zones)

Also note in the image far right and area that says Critical, that was an area that's being taken over by a faction (al-la what we have now) and bottom of image where one says Failing again getting taken over etc etc etc.

Brooklyn was a complete part of the game, the underground was even there(when released it was a tunnel to the very first rescue at the bank) in trailer it was the underground.(Ergo DLC)

Sorry bit off topic I could go on and on with stuff iv'e found/watched listened too.

Doesn’t surprise me. I never quite got why the DZ was set up the way it is. It’s not PvP. It’s just a playground for griefers... I’m a good guy. Surpise! Now I’m a bad guy! Now I’m a good guy; Now I’m a bad guy. Ok. I’m a good guy again. Boom, now I’m bad guy! So silly.

Not upset and not surprised.

I respawn and get a invite from the leader to rejoin the group. I respectfully decline. Few minutes later I get a message from the leader, "Sorry man, it had to happen. It's the DZ ya know. So we had to jack your stuff. lol"

So I responded with, "Whatever. It was uncool, but it is the DZ"

Then he ask if I am going to take the invite.

    I told him I wasn't interested.

    He's then asked, "Why not?"

At this point I was thinking, this is stupid. So I told him, "Cause I can't trust you."

He said, "But I want to return your loot."

"Why didn't you extract it?" I asked.

    HIs response, " I did."

"Once you kicked me and then extracted. You can't give the loot back. It's yours and I have no interest in playing with players that play like that. It's a loyalty thing. It's a respect thing. You got the loot and it's fine. I learned my lesson and won't play with you guys ever again."

He then apologizes and asking for my forgiveness.

After that, I get a message that they are following me and added me to their Friends list. So I block them at this point.

So my question is, so if you gank a player do you really expect them to be happy about it? Do players think, once you stick it to another player, that they still want to play the game with you? It's the DZ and what happens, happens. Yet I didn't understand the need to push it after that.
Everything about the DZ, from the very conception of the fundamental idea, is bad. It's poorly implemented. Going rogue has zero consequences. PVP is already an unbalanced mess in this game without throwing random switches back and forth to hostile status.

The fact that they repeated this mistake from the Division 1 is just another hallmark of how utterly ignorant and what levels of willfully refusing to learn from past mistakes the devs have.

As Goo Goo Man said, I am trying to understand my fellow players and their actions. For me it makes playing online more tolerable. When playing at least for me, I like understanding why people are the way they are.

It could be nothing more then as SevenNVD says. He was just trying to get a reaction from me and apparently didn't get the one he wanted.

I do know there are enough so called hardcore DZ players in here that would understand doing this. So I was curious if they could supply some insight.

That's like asking the cow if he's happy about it while you are sitting at your table eating your Filet Mignon steak for dinner.

It'a a means to an end: You are eating the steak because you need to eat to survive. The fact that it's steak on the menu is purely because it tastes nice for you. It's personal preference. A Vegan will vehemently disagree!

Agents farm other players because loot needs to be obtained. The fact that they farm players as opposed to A.I. for said loot is again, personal preference. Loot on average is better coming from other agents than A.I. There is after all a reason why the gear was picked up in the first place. Those being farmed will disagree.

Other agents farm agents for giggles. Why not? It's fun hunting people with a modicum of intelligence as opposed to the brain-dead A.I.

So yes, as to your original question, why should it matter if the other player is happy or not? He/She/Non-Binary knew the risks when they entered. We all play the same game. What matters at the end of the day is whether I am happy playing the game the way I want to play it.

If I am, good. I am not playing the game to make someone else happy so whatever they might think is largely irrelevant for the purposes of my gameplay. This of course excludes group gameplay.

So to answer why we, rogues kill other players? For fun, for us PvP is fun, even as broken as it is right now.
On the other hand like someone mentioned above, loot. Items picked up by other agents have already been selected from all the trash that drops, so better chances finding something useful, altho most of the time for a fully geared player even that is mostly trash.
The best method for this is hijacking extractions, if they want to extract the probably got something useful.

If you want to know why i go rogue; i enjoy the hunt, sometimes a challenge of going up against a group.

The dz though however falls flat on its back as its a breeding ground for crap players to go 3 or 4v1 and feel like they're actually good at the game whereas they're actually a bit ****
