I had an idea that I haven’t seen before that could be used as a unique feat on one of the new heroes. Needs a proper name but the working title could be something like Harbinger’s aura. This is how it would function basically...

Enemy players in an aura around the you cannot benefit from healing properties of their feats

This would mean a few things gameplay wise:

  • Second wind, Stalwart banner, Champions aura; are not able to be activated while inside an enemy player’s Harbinger’s aura, nor will the healing benefits of activating these feats occur i.e. tick style heals while standing inside the healing aura of Stalwart banner will not work if the player is also within an overlapping enemy active Harbinger’s aura.
  • Body count, Regenerate, Heal on block, Yama uba; etc. (all the passive healing feats) will not work while inside an enemy player’s activated Harbinger’s aura.
  • Protected revive and Bounty hunter will only heal to the normal level of healing with no extra health benefit
  • Harbinger’s aura ONLY applies the healing benefits of a feat. A feat like Bounty hunter for example, which normally restores an extra amount of health and stamina on kill will instead only restore the stamina but not the health if the kill if occurs inside an enemy’s Harbinger’s aura while it is active
  • Harbinger's aura doesn't affect healing properties of gear perks

This is a feat that would add some counter-counter play without feeling unaturally OP. Think of it being incorporated into a team fight similar to Black Prior's Oath Breaker shield negating feat. A player with this feat could activate it before approaching an enemy player's Stalwart Banner, negating it and continuing the pressure on the enemy, but at the cost of one of your feat slots. Maybe you would activate the feat just before a team fight, where you think the enemy will try to take advantage of their healing feats- it would just require a little bit of prediction on knowing when to activate it as the user of Harbinger's Aura feat. As for the size of the feat's aura/activation time, I would’ve thought about the same size/time as Highlander's tier 4 Champion's aura feat.

The idea also works as an opposing force to the theme of this years opening season titled 'HOPE', in the sense that this feat is an 'ANTI-HOPE' and instills a sense of dread i.e. not being able to heal for a short amount of time.

What do you think? Any potential? Might be a little bit hard to code into the spaghet but who knows
