FIREFLY ISSUE: Immediately Destroyed after Deployment

    Hello!

I am having an issue where my firefly will immediately destroy after deployment. It sometimes my guy will try to throw it through the cover I am behind, which will obviously destroy it .. or sometimes it will just blow up seemly randomly. I am not holding on to the deployment button to long .. you can see an example in the attached video.

    Any ideas?

    I've also noticed this.

as you mentioned, if your behind cover and try to throw it, it will simply smash itself against the cover and go on CD which is REALLY annoying when your running a CC build during a legendary run
    -_-

ive also noticed that it wont always blind the targets you highlight, as in some of them but not all. im guessing its either shot down or just runs out of life but the firefly seems to be REALLY buggy right now.

just gotta add it to the long list of other stuff that needs fixing.

The firefly in your video was destroyed by the cover you threw it into. You're best off back-stepping out of cover to throw, and then reentering cover in that scenario.

BTW, I've also had fireflies destroyed by street utility poles that were in their immediate flight path.

This bug has been around for at least 2 weeks. I thought they were supposed to have fixed it in the last patch?

I apologize guys .. I didn't see that this issue was still listed as a work in progress in the TU9 Issues Log.

I have a question for you Firefly users. What is the best way to deploy this skill?
I have done the aiming thing, but I find myself holding the skill for a long period time before I actually send it on its way. By the time I actually release the Firefly half of the targets are already dead. Can I just throw it in the wind? Should I aim? How many enemies should I target before I release it?

    Thanks for any input!

I hold down the button to arm it, quickly move my sights around to target each enemy, then release button to deploy. I don't think you can just throw it out there.

I think it's best used when the NPCs are in close proximity to each other. This way you can target more NPCs in a shorter period of time and NPCs will be easier to shoot or grenade when closer together, If you play solo and you target NPCs that are qute a distance apart I find that the firefly gets shot down or the effect wears off before I can shoot down more than a few of the NPCs.

Thanks to you both for the input. Much appreciated. I did have better luck with it today. I'll keep practicing!

What Iv'e noticed while practicing with both the blinder and the burster is that the Firefly follows a path. And if there's ever something it can't get around easily, it will simply explode.

What makes no sense to me is the smash against cover, because after you launch it succesfully it will fly right around normal cover to reach it's target. But for some reason right at launch it doesn't.

What I do to avoid this is to try and ALWAYS start the firefly while aiming at open space. You have to be careful about this indoors, because if you aim straight up, for example, it will hit the ceiling and explode. Try to aim somewhere that it has enough room to manouver. And whoever said it earlier that it works better when enemies are closer together, they had it right.
