There is nothing merit worthy in what they posted., let's just take another look.
They are working on bug fixes that is ESTIMATED June.
They are taking in and going through feedback.
Ai team mates are ESTIMATED summer.
New event ESTIMATED summer.
I'm very sorry but I cannot at all agree that this is merit worthy. If this is what we have to take as a step forward we might as well just give up all hope of the studio making up on the damage they've done.
This anger and frustration could be mitigated , IF they just admit how few devs are still able to actively work on the game, while working from home. I don't think that they were as prepared for the lockdown, as other studios were. It sucks, but there are a lot of external factors, right now, that could be greatly affecting their productivity.
As far as the DMR glitch goes, I have a feeling that the only way that they are going to permanently get rid of it, is to restrict the marksman's high powered rounds, to just sniper rifles, where the low rate of fire and small magazine size, makes glitching it less attractive.
Welcome to MMO raids. We've been waiting for you.Originally Posted by F1VESTARS Go to original post
There is a lot of hostility and finger-pointing going on in this thread. We shouldn't be bashing others just for a different opinion. I completely get what Blue was saying. If you've ever been in some customer service roles, like a call center then you know full well that it does wear on you. If all you hear is negative and how you (or your company) can't do anything right, then soon you'll become jaded to both sides and only feign interest for the customers while no longer giving a damn.
I am an older gamer (nearly 50) so I have been around a LOT of flops. In fact, years ago I swore UBI off and didn't buy anything from them for many years. I don't honestly recall why. But, a friend bought me The Division (1) so I played it and loved it. I had issues at first, but a couple of years into it, I found out it was the power supply in my PC all along and once I changed it, the issue went away. I swore it was UBI since theirs was the only game that did that. Looking back, I think it just worked the hardware harder requiring more power, thus causing the problem.
It is frustrating to be promised one thing and receive another. It is also frustrating when they ask for feedback then seemingly do the opposite. Or, when they give specific dates when something will be done and it isn't, just as it is when they go silent. One starts to think they gave up and walked away. Honestly, I am not even sure the point I am trying to make but just remember that at the end of the day, these are people. People that most of them poured their heart into what they create. They are humans, treat them as you would if you were standing face to face with them with you both having their families there. While we can criticize the end result, and offer suggestions, it is up to them to fix it. In the mean time, if people are really this disenfranchised with this game or UBI in general, there are plenty other games out there. After loving The Division 1, I hated TD2. I played it at release, then put it away for nearly a year and tried it again just as WoNY was released. I still hated it. So, I reminded myself why I usually don't pre-order games, uninstalled it, and started playing GRBP. Personally, while I am stuck near the end of this game and can't figure out what I need to do or if the story stops where it is, I have put a couple hundred hours in the game and actually like it quite a bit.
I haven't really had many issues with the game at all. I also one of those who greatly praised the options offered by the release of immersive mode. That had to have taken a lot of work. It has made it where a person can tailor things to suit their specific tastes. I am sure someone will quote this post and chastise me for my opinion. But, at my age, I have realized opinions are like noses; most everyone has one. Often, even opposing views both have merit. It doesn't mean we can't offer constructive criticism instead of hostility. I often wonder why people hang around forums of a game if they don't like it. I did occasionally check the TD2 forum to keep track of what they were doing, but didn't join in and ***** about it. I just read the news and announcements and went on my merry way. Speaking of which, it is time I go get my game on.![]()
It was intended to be used with the marksman rifles, so glitching wouldn't gain anything I don't think. I am not sure though, I have never used it. I kept reading about it here so I watched a video, but the game has enough settings to get the difficulty just right for anyone so what's the point? I hear it is useful for the raid and that the raid will suck without it. If so, then the raid that needs addressed also. I probably won't know as I am a solo player. Unless, the Dev team follows the path of Borderlands 3 and the raids initially required 4 players, now scales appropriately to number of players.Originally Posted by Megalodon26 Go to original post

I agree that the feedback has been largely negative but criticism usually is. My issue was mostly with the hostility remark which IMO felt dismissive of all our criticism up to that point which (for the most part) wasn't.
Also, they've done very little to change in the way of improving communication with their community and when they do show signs of moving forward in this respect, they eventually return to their usual pattern of vague and/or short bits of updates on upcoming TU's, etc. Next will likely be the teasers a couple weeks before release on the new content, AI, etc. with details released at the eleventh hour.
The reason I say this is not a step forward is because it simply isn't IMO / IME. This is their normal pattern underserving of encouragement IMO. It was for GRW and still is for GRB if not moreso. That initial period where they took the polls, introduced new CMs who interacted with the community, put together the Ghost Experience, etc. was great. That was a step in the right direction. I also witnessed an increase in the positivity of the community overall and even saw the sharing of encouraging remarks during that period.
Since then, all we've seen is Ubi clam up and return to their normal routine with radio silence, vague responses, etc. Of course the negativity will return and I can't blame people for being critical of them for that.
As far as IW, they do get their fair share of toxic and negative feedback on social media. ....and yeah, they also get positive feedback / reviews because (no surprise here) they delivered a game their fans wanted. It was a success. Obviously, Ubi is in a different boat with GRB and of course most feedback will be more critical and yes, some even toxic / hostile, but that is no excuse for them to retreat. If anything, it should encourage them even more to effect change with PR.
If this feedback (negative, toxic, etc.) isn't lighting a fire under someone's butt to help change their fans perception of the franchise, their competence, etc., I simply don't know what else to say. I've seen this as well with independent devs on a much smaller scale but again, we have those who communicate well with their customers and those who don't. ......guess who has a better relationship with their fans?
The power is in their hands to change that perception people have of them but they don't put forth the effort. ....and when they do, they don't follow through. I brought up IW because I think Ubi could learn something from them in this regard as a AAA peer. .....as well as their vision for MW for that matter but that's another discussion.
Thank you for expressing what I've been trying to say better than I could, really well written post dude.Originally Posted by Bambihunter1971 Go to original post
Yeah, there are some here that are hostile and I will even say irrational by my standards, but let's be fair and and not mistake others disagreements or criticisms for hostility, personal jabs, etc. Personally, I simply choose not to lend merit to personal attacks, etc. by acknowledging or responding to them.Originally Posted by Bambihunter1971 Go to original post
As for why people remain on a forum who are critical of a game, I also find that remark a little dismissive to be honest but I'll tell you why I do and I never even bought the game.....
I stay because I was a big fan of GRW and the direction Ubi was taking the franchise. I wanted the next iteration in the series to succeed. I have to say, if GRB ended up a success, I would have wrote off GR as another Ubi killed off for me. .....but it wasn't. People spoke out not only with words but their wallets and Ubi was forced to listen. Personally, I see this failure as a golden opportunity for us fans to effect change in the direction Ubi takes this franchise. Now more than ever its important we help them understand what we want in a GR game and what we want from them as a game developer. We have their ear so why wouldn't we take advantage of that?
I'll wager most who are critical stick around because they want to see GRB or the next title in the series become what we all hoped it could have been after GRW. .....and GRB's failure (as sad it was for Ubi) opened that path for us to change their vision.
....btw, I'm already past the half the century mark so I'm right there with ya.![]()
The marksman ability was designed to let the player fire 3 extra powerful rounds from a sniper rifle or DMR. But the glitch basically makes it so that every shot fired by a DMR, uses those rounds, making them twice as powerful than even a Tac-50, So in PVP, even getting hit in the leg would be an instant kill, and can destroy even the largest drones, in just a few hits.Originally Posted by Bambihunter1971 Go to original post
