There is a lot of hostility and finger-pointing going on in this thread. We shouldn't be bashing others just for a different opinion. I completely get what Blue was saying. If you've ever been in some customer service roles, like a call center then you know full well that it does wear on you. If all you hear is negative and how you (or your company) can't do anything right, then soon you'll become jaded to both sides and only feign interest for the customers while no longer giving a damn.
I am an older gamer (nearly 50) so I have been around a LOT of flops. In fact, years ago I swore UBI off and didn't buy anything from them for many years. I don't honestly recall why. But, a friend bought me The Division (1) so I played it and loved it. I had issues at first, but a couple of years into it, I found out it was the power supply in my PC all along and once I changed it, the issue went away. I swore it was UBI since theirs was the only game that did that. Looking back, I think it just worked the hardware harder requiring more power, thus causing the problem.
It is frustrating to be promised one thing and receive another. It is also frustrating when they ask for feedback then seemingly do the opposite. Or, when they give specific dates when something will be done and it isn't, just as it is when they go silent. One starts to think they gave up and walked away. Honestly, I am not even sure the point I am trying to make but just remember that at the end of the day, these are people. People that most of them poured their heart into what they create. They are humans, treat them as you would if you were standing face to face with them with you both having their families there. While we can criticize the end result, and offer suggestions, it is up to them to fix it. In the mean time, if people are really this disenfranchised with this game or UBI in general, there are plenty other games out there. After loving The Division 1, I hated TD2. I played it at release, then put it away for nearly a year and tried it again just as WoNY was released. I still hated it. So, I reminded myself why I usually don't pre-order games, uninstalled it, and started playing GRBP. Personally, while I am stuck near the end of this game and can't figure out what I need to do or if the story stops where it is, I have put a couple hundred hours in the game and actually like it quite a bit.
I haven't really had many issues with the game at all. I also one of those who greatly praised the options offered by the release of immersive mode. That had to have taken a lot of work. It has made it where a person can tailor things to suit their specific tastes. I am sure someone will quote this post and chastise me for my opinion. But, at my age, I have realized opinions are like noses; most everyone has one. Often, even opposing views both have merit. It doesn't mean we can't offer constructive criticism instead of hostility. I often wonder why people hang around forums of a game if they don't like it. I did occasionally check the TD2 forum to keep track of what they were doing, but didn't join in and ***** about it. I just read the news and announcements and went on my merry way. Speaking of which, it is time I go get my game on.
