Loot problem is a content problem

After around 600 hours in game and 14 months of existence, I think I can say that there is a problem with content in this game and this brings the perceived loot problem.

There is One reason and one reason only why loot sucks, and it’s not because Massive cannot make it better. Loot is easy to code, it’s because they have nothing to give.

Let’s say that heroic would guarantee you no rainbow drops, only one colour with at least 80% rolls, how long would it take to max out a character ? 10 hours ?

They can’t do it, people will stop playing when it’s done. They need to modify the game IMHO, to add the content we should have after one expansion :

    - More equipment slots : belts, boots, elbow pads so that you can have a hybrid build worth it. 5-6 reds is the minimum you need to have an acceptable TTK at higher levels, so we need at least 10 core attributes to mix them with blue and yellows

    - We need more sets with better bonuses and talents. Currently green gear is bad, a 6 red CHC-CHD is better than all of them for killing. A well made yellow build is better than HW, etc...

We need more exotics, not 20, more like a 120

    - To compensate the spike in powers of players, add difficulties , legendary one, legendary two, three, etc, like world tiers

TLDR : Loot sucks because there is no content , if they gave you good loot you would be out of the game so fast because there is only one or 2 build worth it

    Add content.

Hard to argue your logic, although i love the actual mechanics of the game (when they operate correctly), can't say for sure but you may possibly be right. I would agree we need more content tho.

I would love this so much, but current gear system is just too simple so that would be OP.

I would like to see a complex and interesting loot system in Division 2 but I know that will not happen, not even in Div 3.
They don't have good people for this and I know it's not as easy as it sounds.

Current system is so simplified that only thing they can do to keep people playing is to keep stat % always low thinking we will endlessly grind for that 100% rolls.
    Well I'll not for sure.

that's exactly what I think is wrong, the problem will not be solved.

How long will it take you to max out a character if you can recalibrate 2 stats? a day ?

Then with your perfect character you will have a really easy time in heroic and you will quickly stop playing.

That is the essence of my post, they lack content so they CANNOT give you access to the best loot, you'll have nothing to do after ward.

Just a comparison, a World of Warcraft expansion will bring you new content for around 12 to 14 months ( most people agree that there is a lack of content in the last 6 months of their lifespan and they last 2 years )

Warlords of New York brought us around 2 weeks of content, and then everything was done. And no, leagues where you replay things with a timer is not content.

Content would be 4 or 5 new raids, several new missions monthly, etc...

And I will go forward with a very unpopular opinion, but I am not afraid of my position, instead of e-credits, bill us a monthly fee but give us content.

It's easy, just look at the successful MMO, FF 14 and WoW both do it, and they are top of the class right now.

It is better for a player to leave your game because they've played everything that was available and had fun, than to leave your game out of frustration because of stingy, weak game design that does nothing but frustrate.

Yes, but it is better for a player to stay in your game and have fun.

I agree. However, it's a mistake to try and force a game to be constantly fun all the time. It's ok for content that's fun to be exhausted, and for players to go somewhere else while they wait for you to release something new. When you try to force your game to contort and become annoying and irritating in an attempt to keep players constantly involved....that's when you get things like Mobile Game predatory practices, or in the case of Division 2....bad loot and progression that isn't rewarding.

add content. Loot doesnt matter if you are tired of playing the same old crap. I could play with my crappy build all day long if i wasnt repeating the same crap over and over and over.
