So a Nemesis and 3 M1As walk in to a bar...

I was finishing leveling my Sniper specialization so I decided to run an invaded stronghold on Heroic. I joined a little way in to the mission, but not too terribly far. I saw that all three other members were all running M1A meta builds and I was running an Aces and Eights set with a Nemesis, so I figured I wasn't going to be top damage. Yeah, I was right, but holy ****. They were downing enemies faster than I could aim and fire.

It is pretty amazing how fast that rifle takes out bad guys. I love my sniper rifles, but I don't see why my M44 hitting ~504K damage should take four hits to kill. It takes the same four hits from an M1A doing ~300K - plus it's faster and I don't have to reload it before moving on. (None of these numbers are maxed or run with a kitted sniper build and are just an example of my experience).

Between the NPCs magically knowing I am about to aim at them, the slow rpm, and the frequent reloading I see no benefit to having a sniper build. If I could take a guy with a shot to the head I would carry a sniper rifle. I love the sound of the shot and I love taking aim and making a good shot. It just isn't worth it right now.

Oh I can definitely one-shot them in the head. My current build does right at 19 mil for a crit head shot. Getting that shot off though is another story. It takes time to charge the Nemesis up to full dmg, not to mention trying to line the shot up on NPCs that are bouncing all over the place because they're either getting mortared to death or they're scrambling from all of the bullet spray. If you have a fairly effective group with M1As you'll struggle to try to get a kill because they're just mowing them down before you can get half your shots off.

I enjoy playing a sniper and getting those big dmg shots. I've taken down a boss in two shots before, which was pretty amazing. There just isn't a lot of room in the game for a sniper when you can rapid fire a gun like the M1A that puts up the amount of damage it does.

That may change next week when you want to kill EVERYONE with headshots during the Reanimated Global Event.

I run with one player with a full red build and M1A and he outguns me 4:1. It is incredible how fast he mows them down. I throw my hive, set up a turret, and then we're off to the next part. I don't have time to fire a round sometimes.

I aquired the Nemesis just yesterday and still need some practice with it. It has a bit of sway to it and the charge seems a bit much with the NPC movemment and awareness.

It does have quite a bit of scope sway. I can configure other marksman rifles to have no noticeable sway. I'm not quite sure why this one has so much. It would also probably be a good idea to reduce the charge time as well. It's entirely too long.

You need a Nemesis AND a Baker's Dozen. BD for the majority of the game and the Nemesis for those moments of impatience and giggles when your bullets hits for 35 million a pop. Very good for solo'ing CP4's......stand at range and decimate the CP lol

Nemesis is TRASH and all that hold down mechanic 1v1 npc or boss is nice but multi spamming is TRASH unless you are chinese no life nerd spamming buttons then it is ok

I've made "good on paper" MR build that got deleted after few "real play" tests.

Marksman builds in current game have only some niche roles like to one tap players in DZ or to do some phases/rooms in a dedicated 4 man teams.
I think they are really bad choice to play with randoms, and even solo they are only usable if you are able to play from distance (good for CP4's as someone mentioned).
In many missions you just aren't so every other build works just better.

With cheating AI while using scope and their chaotic movements playing MR brings you much more frustration than joy imho.
