Eh making it a bit viable is always good. :POriginally Posted by Hormly Go to original post
Shinobi was always horrible in 4v4s period. Duel is where he got annoying.Originally Posted by Gaser. Go to original post

2. Instakill ganktool, with absolutely zero skill required from the other players
3. Unpunishable 1v1 stalling and optionselects
Horrible is not the word, disgusting is.
His zone is instant but pre patch not a viable tool since it got parried every time.Originally Posted by Goat_of_Vermund Go to original post
Instakill gank tool? His ranged gb? He needs it for how frequently it lands lol, and other characters also have instakill cc tools for group fights
Instakill deflect in revenge? Few things, I haven't seen this happen, mostly because I don't think I've seen a shinobi survive long enough to get revenge Lol, two, if that is the case then that's pretty f'd.
I only have him rep 4, low as hell compared to my others, but from my experience playing him in 4v4's, it's like barely better than playing orochi, with his old health pool (I don't remember if they changed it) idk. Anyways lol

I don't know about any character who can instantly kill you in a gank from full hp becase you made one simple mistake, let alone this character can be very far from you (pre-patch, before most of his broken stuff was taken out, he and the target received superarmor and revenge lock, so one or two other players could safely land entire chains while the shinobi grabbed his target). And it lands quite well if you are targeting recovery frames from afar, or you do it from a spot you can't be noticed- of course, it can be countered normally, but with how big the reward used to be, it did feel fair.
I am pretty sure he received a feintable zone before the nerfs, but even if he didn't, the zone optionselect was never the best of his. He could start charging a heavy on light parry timing, then deflect the heavy if it is a heavy. He also received superarmor during the charge, so in worst case, he could also trade a ranged gb with whatever landed. Of course, if you did not attack him, he was always bad, but he was totally unkillable in competent players' hands in 1v1. A gank could take him down, but with good situational awareness, he was, and still is more than capable outrunning everyone else.
Shinobi, like Conqueror and Nobushi before their respective nerfs, were considered by the majority flawed, weaker heroes, but their main strenghts came from hidden techs and properties, something that made them broken in skilled hands. But to understand how they played optimally, you really have to understand everything in depth. I just realized watching Freeze's Conqueror optionselect video that how much stuff are unknown for me yet, and when I faced a conq like this in the past countering everything I used, I was totally convinced he is cheating. In fact, he probably empleyed those things in the video. And just like Conqueror, Shinobi required this knowledge, something an avarage Shinobi player never possessed, hence why they cried on the forums for months after some broken toys were taken away- they did not find it broken, because they did not understand how to use it properly.
Well yeah because the entire design of shinobi is flawed.Originally Posted by iadvisoryi Go to original post
I just hope they work on like two of his gimmicks and design a new moveset around that.
It is my professional opinion that a running hug move would solve every issue with warlord and the game as a wholeOriginally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
