Weapon modification still unfinished by ubisoft.

    Hello readers,

after 200 hours of Far Cry 5 I can say its in many ways a fantastic game. The music, atmosphere etc. But: Ubisoft did not finish the weapon modifications: If I put an optical aiming device on my weapon, for example the AK47, then there is still the stock iron visor on the weapon left. This is happening on nearly all rifles: While a reddot visor is attached, there is still an iron at the barrel and a folding visor or diopter visor on the visor rail.
Its obvious that Ubisoft designers wanted to save time in the development process and therefore they didnt fix this issue. If someone can modify a weapon, then he would put only ONE aiming device on the barrell. And interesting enough: On two guns this issue is not happening. The 45/70 and its shorter version. If you attach a visor there, then the stock visor disappears from the barrell. Thats how its supposed to be. Weapons and modificate them is a central part of the game and I am really dissappointed that they handled this so poorly. I think Ubisoft should fix this because its and ruining a central part of the game which could be way better. Its a pain in the eye to see these weapons with stock visor and upgraded visor aswell.

    Cheers

    Erik

Official support for FC5 ended in fall 2018, just 6 months after it's initial release. There have been no significant updates to the game since then (and won't be any more coming).

All we can do is hope that they give more attention to FC6 and support it better.

I don't think you know guns very well. In the example of the AK, often the front site is made into the barrel and can't be removed easily. To modify this you would cut or machine it off....which kinda defeats the purpose of the AK being that it is rugged and tough, meaning you can drop it into mud, wipe it down and it will shoot forever after....most want the ability to easily switch a rifle back to iron sites if the scope fails, and to me this would be even more on point in a war or combat situation. Now for the AR versions, it depends on if you have a stock military style or the more modern civilian version, because most military styles have a fixed unchanging front site will many civilian versions have a smooth barrel for shrouds to allow different addons to be used. So having front sites on red-dots and other minor scopes is totally normal in many guns. There are some that you can take the sites, both front and rear, with nothing more than a screwdriver, and there are guns that don't come with iron-sites at all....depends on the gun.

So to my mind, it seems that Ubi-soft has done well with the realism of gun modifications and held true to real life.
