Hi there, I am a fairly new console gamer (slightly less than a year now), so I apologize if this question sounds very 'newbieish'.
I have played an AC: Odyssey standard disc version, then I bought AC: Origins digital thanks to PSN Store deals and I found very comfortable not to have to fumble with disc anymore. So long story short, I am musing about buying AC: Odyssey Ultimate digital to fully benefit from digital.
If I switch from disc version to digital version does my save data migrate?
I have already checked about region limitations, and it seems that PSN Store here in Italy sells me the same CUSA-09303 as my disc version

I already made a full recovery - save data backup on usb stick from PS4 setting- even if I have read that when you delete a game from PS4 it does not also delete save data unless you ask for it (still I didn't try it yet).
So can I simply buy the digital version, delete the disc version, download and install the digital version and I will be set to go with my save data? Will it work for both account playing the game on the PS4 (mine and my girlfriend's)?
If I switch disc to digital all DLC already bought will work? I mean season pass mainly, and switching from standard disc to digital deluxe (the handful of perks, Kronos, Dusk, Capricorn and time savers)?
I assume that will works as I saw that when I bought AC: Origins Gold it actually downloaded many different packages: i.e. the standard game plus the many DLC. So I guees that digital version come along with the actual game plus DLC apart, in other words there are not different game file versions in the different editions but same the game file with the different DLCs attached depending on what edition you buy, am I wrong?
Thanks all for helping![]()
I would double check with support team before going ahead. I'd imagine you'll be downloading brand new game, I wouldn't imagine any of your progress in the game will be saved. Any trophies you've gained so far will still be there though.Originally Posted by Elessar_8585 Go to original post
Let us know how you get on though. The last disc I bought was AC Odyssey, but I've since bought a lot of digital downloads. If I could get some of my older disc games cheap enough in the PS store, I'd probably replace them all as digital versions.
