    I am EXTREMELY skeptical!!!!

A "First Quarter of 2009"¯ release date allows for a mere six months of development time!! .....Based on past projects, this is only ½ the time required for such a project!

For that release date to be "good"¯, UBI would have had to have a Dev Team working since LAST May!

.....But in any event, if such a project is actually under way, you can rest assured that ALL of the intended game parameters and features are now "Cast in Stone"¯!! ....So don't bother posting wishes and suggestions at this point! (....Unless you intend them as just "polite conversation"¯ while we sit on the porch and "Whittle and Spit"¯!)

I will believe it when I see it!!!!!!.

I don't mean any offence to the person that brought it o the attention of the Ubi Forum, but 'Here we go again!!!!'.

I sometimes think that the Ubi people 'leak' 'snippets' of information for no other good reason than to see a reaction in the forum.

The 'question' of SH5 has been brought up twice, in different forums, in the space of one month. Well 'goody &&&&&&&& goody'. If it is Ubi that keeps doing it will you please desist. If you are doing it..then come right out and make a statement that clarifies the position one way or another. In other words 'PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!!'.

Maverick.....'a player of SH3 and SH4 that is growing a deep dislike for Ubisoft Media Department....should rename them the 'uuuummmmmmmm' department'

Oh wow. Good luck to Ubi with that one. I ain't buying it, thats for sure.

For reasons mentioned above. Unless they hire a team of developers of a "genius" IQ, I just don't see it being done with these basic features:
    1)Doesn't immediately crash on startup
2)Doesn't do the old CTD when you press this and that button
3)Actually has more to it than pretty graphics.
4)Lets you enjoy an hour of play without frustration over stupid little bugs like a guy repeating the same thing over and over. And over. (a-la SH3)

You know what I mean. I told myself I won't buy another Ubi product again, but for those who do, my warning is not to pre-order things... At least wait until a few patches, which seem to be so popular nowadays

Yep. If that date is accurate, I think it will be totally unfinished and as welcome here as a fart in a space suit.

From what I have heard, pre-development started around the time U-boat Missions was delayed, so at the end of January 2008. Which means that they will have a full 12 months plus more or less 1 or 2 months for tuning it up.

    That's a knee slapper!

I wish we had a weather gesture emoticon, then I could let Ubi know that they are A #1 in my book.

See, here's my way of viewing things. I take SH4 and Half-Life 2 as examples. Half-Life 2 was delayed for about a year. There were two end products, Half-Life 2 and CS Source. Was HL2 ever patched? No. I have yet to find a bug in it.

CS was patched, but only to solve gameplay issues, like overpowered or overpriced guns. Some things such as the dynamic weapon pricing were tested and rejected. So we can't consider them "patches".

Then we have Ubisoft, with a long-lasting tradition of not finishing their product. HL2 was in development for a long while (more than a year) plus an additional year. SH4 was developed how long? The end result (unpatched) is well-known, I will not saw sawdust.

So trusting Ubisoft to develop a game in 14 months.... I dunno, I won't even TRY to ASSUME they will be able to make something as polished as HL-2.

I am not saying that they will, but at least those at UBI_Romania will have more time on their hands to make things work.

And just to put things in perspective: FPS and Simulations are not in the same league in my view...
