My main point was that GRW was a nice departure from a lot of that. Personally, I don't like a lot of that tech in my tactical shooter games. In GRW, the tech (which was essentially only the drone) was in the players hands and the gameplay didn't require the use of it save for one story mission IIRC. You could play the whole game without it.

For me, it's more about basic team tactics and the gunplay.

You mean like a "squad based modern tactical military shooter"? *gasp* What kind of self respecting Ghost Recon fan would want something like that?!

Seriously though, it's just what I (personally) look for in any military tactical shooter. More emphasis on unit tactics and gunplay rather than tech. I get some people like that stuff and in GR may even expect it and that's fine. ....just a personal preference for me and why I liked their departure from it in GRW.

Lads — it’s not about WWII setting being redundant ...

Most WWII games MoH, COD they’re all scripted, linear corridor shooters. They’re bollovcks.

Since H&D there’s been no proper open tactical shooter with a WWII setting.

I don’t mind having Normandy or Holland if only it can be open world, squad based tactical shooter. 4 man squad like H&D....

military shooter is a genre no difference at all go to any game store and those games will be directly next to one another so no i'm not playing that pick and choose when it's convenient no plain and simple for me I wouldn't play the game if they did as a matter of fact I would ditch the series if i didn't already like BattleField and trust me I keep tabs on both tabs 1 and 5 and players went back to 4 and 3 that's going backwards in a present day games set in the past meaning they went back to past WW scenarios in present day only to have half if not most complain about the usual and go back to present day war scenario games that only a small number of the player base wanted a WW scenario? irony.

And also UBISOFT can learn from COD as far as futuristic war goes don't go to far into it like COD did with one title that didn't go so well either just KIS keep it simple within terms of being believable like how somp found real drones that are in prototype phase or in production now that look like what's in the game now that's cool to put them in but at the insane amount that's on the island is crazy.
