If you've ever worked on a team you know there are many moving parts and sometimes information may get missed when passing it along. It happens sometimes. I think some people's expectations of the way certain things happen are a bit skewed because they don't actually have any firsthand knowledge of the process they're criticizing.
No there are really not a lot of reasons. As I said before in a post that has mysteriously disappeared in this thread, I am currently migrating 3500 remote users from one virtual desktop environment to another. I am working with 24 departments and 3 engineering teams on this and the 3500 people are currently working remotely as am I and the 24 department heads and 3 engineering teams on that same VDI. This same environment I am in charge of patching 24 unique desktop with different software and even different OSes. Somehow over the last month working remotely (nothing to say of the fact I work 1750 miles from everyone I work with already) I have be able to keep everyone informed and up to date on the changes in the patching what complications may arise and which users are being migrated at which times so the 3 engineering teams can handle the AD and exchange move as we are also migrating them to office 365 which will be hosted by azure. There have been no balls dropped. There has been no miscommunication. And we have at least 3 meetings a week to discuss everything we are working on that week, where we are in that cycle and what we are ramping up for the next week.

This wasnt some maintenance patch. It was a title update. If they had less than 4 meetings since last tuesday I would be completely shocked. This was talked about, the damage reduction was discussed, they had patch notes out for almost 3 days. they had an hour long effing stream, and no comment about it. All over reddit, youtube, and this forum there were discussion about how much they were going to castrate the M1A. They KNEW it was on peoples minds and still managed to leave it out of patch notes? Not mention it? That is plain incompetence.

And I am not a software developer, But I do handle project management. And in studying for my PMP I have studied the principals behind Scrum, and Less, and DAD. I understand the software development cycle. I have never participated in a sprint in software development but I know what they are like.

Everyone who defends companies always uses the argument well I have no idea what they are up against, their process or inter office communication difficulties especially from remote users.

I work 1750 miles from my team, the systems I manage, and my managers. I have met my department head in person twice in the last 7 years. I have met my team members for the first time in Feb. when I was brought up there for 3 days. The only difference the coronavirus has made is that instead of me driving 20 minutes to work at my desk in an office, I walk upstairs and log in to my computer. All the challenges of coordinating remotely are the same. and it is something that can be completely doable.

Stop allowing bad company practices to slide. You deserve better and they should be held accountable for their actions.

Actually I wouldnt have. I personally do not think it needed to be nerfed 40% but like I said I was expecting a nerf for it. What I am raging about the utter lack of professionalism in a AAA development team. And the complete BS response to "correct" the situation. Add to the fact that there is now another emergency maintenance scheduled today because they didnt test their patch before they implemented it, and people are missing kneepads from their inventory. And they will probably have to roll inventories back to before the patch which means anyone playing that recal'd their exotics are going to lose the recal and probably will not be able to get the rolls back. It is utter effing incompetence.

But hey you continue to accept whatever sub par mediocrity companies serve you. Im sure they appreciate your hard earned money for whatever rancid bowl of sht they give you without expectations.

"Fan boi"... ok champ. I guess we all can't be perfection like yourself and never, ever make a mistake in life.

Awesome. It sounds like you guys are doing a fantastic job then. I would be willing to wager that your operations support a lot of critical processes as well. The problem is you are comparing support for VDI of what sounds like a moderately sized corporate entity where downtime can be extremely costly to a moderately sized game development studio who really has no critical processes to support.
As much as we would like top tier service for the few bucks we shell out, it's not very cost effective for the company. How much does it cost to license and support something like Vsphere for an organization of that size? There's a reason for that as is the level of support you get. Now compare that to a niche Co-Op online shooter whose only source of revenue are initial sales and micro-transactions for vanity items and some DLC. That's like going to McDonalds and complaining that the quality of the food doesn't match your favorite Michelin 3-star restaurant. Ideally we would like the quality and level of service to be consistent, but it just isn't realistic.
I guess what I'm saying is that I think I find my expectations are more realistic than some of what I see. I'm not saying I don't see the mistakes that are made, but it isn't really that earth-shattering of a revelation to me and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. If the investment is no longer worth the return, then I just won't put any more time and money in to it. Pretty simple.

Just keep track of all the people posting they are going to quit and that this will kill the game......many are the same that stated the ban wave would be the end of the game.....and they will still be around posting(playing) when the next big thing comes up that will definitely(probably) kill the game.

    It isn’t about expecting perfection.

I would be happy if they just admit when they make mistakes but they can’t do that because to many people defend and pay them on the back no matter how many times they screw over the community.

40% nerf is ridiculous. If a weapon needs a 40% nerf to be on par and everyone is using that weapon most of the time. All other weapons need to be on par with it. Not the other way around. Having to headshot a red enemy 3 times is crazy. How is that “balanced”. Not asking for one shot kills or anything but there is clearly an issue. We all chose to use that weapon despite the lack of mods and rate of fire for the added damage. Now there isn’t any added damage for those handicaps. How is that “fair” exactly.

Doesn’t matter how many threads are made on the issue or any issue because the devs only listen to themselves and the one that refuse to give honest feedback to them. All they want is a pat on the back and to be told they are doing a good job. Which is impossible to do with the decisions they make unless those giving the feedback are being paid for their feedback so it isn’t actually feedback on the product. It is also why they refuse to allow anyone else test the updates they make because we all would find issues with them but since they refuse to open up the testing some users still claim they are doing the right things which means they are fanboys.
