Such BS. They knew it was a bad nerf so they left it out plan and simple.

The core actual development team from Massive is gone and the “b” team has been running the Division franchise but they didn’t make the code so they don’t really know how to fix it. Everything is pushed out on old builds (that’s why we’re getting all these Legacy bugs back and reoccurring fixes for the same things) because they literally can’t build new code all they can do is add on to existing. That’s why no survival or no underground 2 and that’s why Red Storm isn’t on the game anymore there’s an internal Division team now.

I honestly think they want this game to be good but they don’t know how to make it such because they didn't make the game.

I think (my opinion only - possibly shared) what aggravates a lot of people on the forums currently is that the patch notes were released a couple of days ago, and many comments were made regarding the lack of M1A alteration, including on YT. Ubisoft had days to update the notes if they so chose to. It was their decision to update the notes after the fact, and therefore the backlash is understandable.
That's my take as well. Personally I did not use the M1A, but to those who did, the question whether or not it would be nerfed is pretty important. Omitting this information from the patch notes (whether on purpose or by neglect, it does not matter) gave players the expectation that they would be able to continue to enjoy its high damage. Finding out that it received a _huge_ nerf instead, must have felt like a punch to the guts.

I usually see Massive in a quite positive light, and I don't share much of the criticism that others post here - I just really enjoy the game. But in this case they really messed up, there's no way around that.

The #1 change the players are seeing being chalked up to coronavirus is so disgraceful

Because even though a large portion of the playerbase uses the meta M1A build, nobody would log in and notice?
I get the outrage about a large nerf to a clearly favorite weapon/build for a lot of people, but to insinuate that there was some sort of deviousness to it getting left out of the patch notes is silly.
There are many reasons why it could have been left out. It may have looked like it wasn't going to make it in to this patch so it hadn't been added to the notes, and then they finished it at the last minute and forgot to indicate that it would be in the patch. If you've ever worked on a team you know there are many moving parts and sometimes information may get missed when passing it along. It happens sometimes. I think some people's expectations of the way certain things happen are a bit skewed because they don't actually have any firsthand knowledge of the process they're criticizing.

Because it represents an underlying problem with an organization.

I work in IT/IS if my department, team or I acted 1/5th the way Massive acts on a weekly basis we would all be shtcand and probably blackballed from the industry locally.

Regardless if we already paid our money or not, we are the customer and should be informed about things coming up. If I had known I was going to have to replace my rifle I would have farmed alternatives last week. I do have a few that MIGHT take its places but more than likely I will have to change my build to something else entirely. And if they had informed us that it would have been 40% percent maybe a discussion could have been started if it needed to be 40% and maybe just 20-25% which would have nerfed it and not make it useless.

I mean this is Massive so that wouldnt have made a difference. But it is the fact that they are supposed to be professionals. This is a professional company who has a history of stealth nerfing sht and NEVER saying or admitting to it. This they knew this was coming down since last week. we had patch notes and a state of the game to address it. I effing guarantee there have been at least two meetings since last tuesday in regards to this update before the patch notes.

It is bad company behavior and they should be held accountable for it.

No i think the TP nerf was for PVP reasons but they nerfed the BD/M1A,s because they were just too OPed ... most the people in the game were using them i,d say a 10/15% nerf would of been fine then people would of started to look at other guns ,

Agreed. There are definitely a bunch of drama queens in here. And they would have raged the forums even if the rifle nerf had been in the patch notes.

Game will hopefully be more balanced now.

No way they forget this in the patch notes. It’s the most popular gun in the game. And on the consciousness of the community. If it is truly incompetence, we should all be very worried
