Simply put, he is too safe of a hero. His dodge heavies are literally impossible to deal with unless you manage to guardbreak them before the can get it going. (Most of the time they just back away so they can start it.) His follow up lights are too fast, or his animations are just broken because it is literally impossible to react to them unless your snorting gfuel on the daily. His palm strike, despite being 500ms is literally impossible to dodge unless you randomly guess right, but even after that they can just not follow a missed palm strike and then nothing happens. The dodge lights should not be undodgeable. Maybe from top, but the sides are absolutely broken *** all hell. Literally all recoveries can be cancelled with a dodge, so even if they dont land the heavy dodge attack, they can just feint it and back dodge faster that it can register in my brain. I cant get up in a Tiandi's face to guardbreak because they just palm strike me. Overall, he is just too fast and recoveries are too fast for a vanguard. I know the Wu-lin are all about dodging and fast lights, but come on, hes way too fast, and if the game ends up getting that update they just had in testing grounds, it will literally be impossible to beat Tiandi unless you just sit in a full guard.
1) Stuff his dodge heavy if you can't react parry it. It has only 300ms I frames for an attack that's literally 1100ms. Also I don't know why on earth a Tiandi would back away to do side dodge heavy. Tiandi has actually trash range.
2) His chain finish lights are chain finishers. Meaning he has to work to get to those again. if they were 500ms they'd be parry bait.
3) Palm strike is 600ms. not 500ms. It's a decent reaction. Not nearly as hard as some other bashes. And it's not like you have anyway to mix people up with it. His kick can only come after heavies. And his palm only comes after lights. With no other unblockables in his kit you quite literally can react to orange and be relatively safe.
4) His side dodge lights have actually no range. I cannot believe anyone would seriously and legitimately ask for a nerf on them. The whole reason his dragon kick mix up doesn't work aside from the fact that it's dumb easy to react to is because he cannot punish you for attempting to dodge it aside from very niche scenarios. His dodge lights are meant to punish your attempt to dodge it. and they absolutely blow at it.
5) Tiandi can only cancel the recoveries of his opening basic attacks. Not finishers. Not either of his bashes. Not his zone. He gets no special properties for feinting his dodges either so I don't know where you get the idea that he can feint and back dodge faster than anyone else feinting something.
The forum is not your personal vent box where you're coddled. If you want to actually make a valid complaint about a perceived issue you have please at least actually learn about the hero you're attempting to complain about. It's really not hard to pop into training mode to try out the hero for yourself. And it's also not difficult to go look at the for honor information hub on the comp reddit that has all the information you could ever want about heros. Like. Actually put effort into your posts.
While it's okay to have issues with one particular hero, Tiandi is an unusual subject for one of these threads. It was unheard of until the Prince of Persia event. I see more requests that he be buffed, to be honest with you. I'm not on here to deny that heroes have problems, but in this case, it's hard for me to take this thread at face value.
You use the phrase "literally impossible" 4 times in your post, which is just not accurate in each case. Plenty of people can react to Tiandi's stuff. It's okay to have difficulty doing it, but "literally impossible" does indicate that you've given up on learning this matchup.
Which hero are you usually playing? Maybe folks can help you out with hero-specific tips against Tiandi.
This forum is general discussion. I can post what I want on here as long as it is within the forum rules boundaries. I am expressing my issues with Tiandi personally yes, but I can guarantee I am not the only one. On paper, he does not seem like he would be all that good. However, take into account the fact that most players have average latency, a good number sit over 70 ping on these servers. People have a hard time reacting to attacks often just based on that alone. Im not blaming sub-par ping as the reason, but it does effect gameplay to and extent. I have played with him a decent amount of time, so im not just sitting here crying on the forums as you seem to perceive my post is about. Im expressing what I have issues with regarding Tiandi. Yes I was a little upset when posting it, but I believe its valid. Sorry if it sounded like im complaining, but thats no need to take shots at me.
I meant literally impossible as hyperbole. (Bad hyperbole honestly) But I usually use Highlander, but we all know how that match-up would go, so theres no reason to complain about that. But the only hero I can manage to do well against Tiandi with is someone with a full guard like Warlord or Conq, because his attacks are easy to bait with the full guard. For whatever reason, I have so much trouble trying to parry his lights. I can parry no problem normally, but for whatever reason, its like his animation is wonky or players with higher latency can get away with mixing them up more. Almost like they come out faster than the indicator shows sometimes. I can compare them to Orochi's lights almost if I had to. If they spam its obviously easy to parry, but most players dont spam lights on pc anymore.
On console sometimes is difficult to blocking him I give you that. Homever I think you get emotional in your posts at first, for example when you said that we pk mains don't have skill because you perceive her attacks are just lights. When in reality she is very limited in tools and moves, lack bashes, unblockables, chains and damage capacity.
I can only recommend further training with custom drills against him also to train as him to know how his chains work.
I have stated this in the past and i'll state it again. Everyone's feelings are valid. I am not attempting to invalidate or deny your feelings. I was asking you to speak clearly instead of rage dumping. I know it's a meme to send people over to r/forhonorrants but that's literally why the place exists. You do not create productive discussion let alone actually help the developers with posts like these.Originally Posted by bLACK.bEACH Go to original post
I apologize if it felt like I was attacking you. It was not my intention.
Tbh I have around 60 ping yet I can handle most heroes even light spam
(let's be real it's not a real thing) it has counters examples would be
dodging, "parrying" the lights, using "HA" unless it's undodgable
then you use HA or the parry option. Dodge lights are the easiest
to parry.
I think it's the blue line that gets to most players I think
that indicater should get removed.
Sorry, on console I see average of 30-45 ping. And the idea of tiandi being too good in any way, is a lower Elo mindset, and of someone who doesn't want to actually learn how to get better but rather hope every buff and Nerf you want falls into your lap.
My friend is newer and lower Elo, he has problems with really bad characters because he plays a singular playstyle and is semi unfamiliar with some of the cast. You cannot run away, or dodge away, a tiandi. Blocking left eliminates his zone hitting, after that he can go into kick, so don't go for a parry, it's not worth it. Whilst going for the kick he can cancel into his undodgeable light or go for a gb, that's about the only setup the character has.
His palm strike on console can be annoying if spammed like any bash. It leads to little damage. If you're more annoyed by the stamina drain, you need to learn how to have better stamina control.
His dodge heavy is a joke. Just wait. Block. Don't throw out attacks with bad recovery frames, and if you do, faint them.
Literally just block or react to what he does and punish it accordingly, don't do random attacks and dodges and get mad when he does an undodgeable light and if you get smacked with a dodge heavy, it's your fault.
I'm sorry that I'm ruthless in this thread, it boggles my mind how you or anyone can have such exaggerated opinions. You are allowed to have them, but you really, really should take a look at yourself and your own improvement , before you share and finalize your opinion on a character, that seems so little people worry about.
