I loaded up WL’s tonight.
Almost straight away, it just feels like a better game is so many respects.
Controls feels snapping and responsive, everything works, the cover system works consistently, the gun fights are super satisfying, even the visuals are crisper offering in some instances more detail, compared to Breakpoints low res slow load up of textures and pop in, as well as the clunkiness of the controls and constant glitches..
But Breakpoint today does get some things right ...
I wanted to sum up the main features I think Breakpoint improves upon WL’s.
Because I don’t want Ubisoft to ditch what they got right in this game!
1) I think the new immersive mode makes Breakpoint a slower, more challenging experience. And I do appreciate that. Breakpoint you have to be more methodical and considered — and that feels more like Ghost Recon.
Having a suite of options to customise the experience is fantastic.
2) The injury system I LOVE. Probably the single best and most standout feature over WL’s.
If only more games could have something like this! And option to disable health regen! Finally....
3) the camo system is very cool. (Covering yourself with mud)
4) option to choose CQC weapon
5) I do like the attempt at least to implement some light military survival mechanics. But they need to flesh out these mechanics more, make them more meaningful.
6) breaching torch
7) the concept of movement over different terrain is a neat idea. I love sliding down hills/steep terrain. It’s immersive. But like so much in this game needed more time to get it right.
8) ability to carry 1 primary if you want.
9) ability to carry your coop buddy on your shoulder when injured and carry him to safety! Great!
The above for me is pretty much what Breakpoint gets right. These are really good, and worthy of keeping for a future game.
But pretty much everything else Wildlands is much better.
It’s a shame.
I cannot see myself playing Breakpoint for long.
Where as WL’s is still one of my most played games...
I was playing Breakpoint tonight and most frustrating thing for me was the quick spawning of enemy choppers and Azraels. It's such a cheap-feeling mechanic compared with the old draw distance of Wildlands and the feeling that nothing just spawned to annoy you. Wildlands always felt like choppers were naturally patrolling the skies, not to mention the sky was alive with more than just one aircraft but many helicopters and light planes without this BS gotcha mechanic.
I was fighting the Behemoth in east Lake Country and the game spawned 3 Azreal drones and a total of 5 helicopters while fighting the Behemoth and the whole experience felt like poor programming to annoy not enhance gameplay.
God, I just wish Montreal would do the next ghost recon project.
Although ruined by bugs movement in Combat, cover system and traversal is much more fleshed out in Breakpoint. Wildlands seems like your player is floating and stiff, but I think the bugs correlate more in terms of how the player reacts to environments in this case Breakpoints world is definitely under developed.Originally Posted by LaMOi Go to original post

Wildlands! Ubisoft drop the ball big time on breakpoint. This is one of those games where the damage is already done and will never recover. You/Ubisoft can say there’s time to improve the game but in reality when the final product is technically done, overall it will still be a major disappointment. You will see some improvements but that’s all your going to see which will still never be enough to be were the game should be. Breakpoint was poorly planned out.
Totally agree.Originally Posted by kniVes-6- Go to original post
Wildlands things like choppers in the sky felt a lot more organic, whereas Breakpoint choppers in the sky just feel like they spawn in only because the player is located there.
Not sure I agree with movement in combat and the cover system being better in Breakpoint.Originally Posted by SaviorBasedGod Go to original post
The cover system in Breakpoint is not only inconsistent in terms objects that work with the cover system, but also once in cover the movement is ridiculously over sensitive, making pushing yourself up to the the edge or corner of a wall or object is a lesson in frustration.
Whereas WL’s allows the player to move slowly when in cover, so precise movement is possible.
Also movement during combat is where thing fall apart in Breakpoint. Needlessly finicky and imprecise, wrestling the controls, avoiding getting stuck in scenery is every bit as important as dodging incoming fire.
WL’s is snappy and precise in comparison. Guns also feel weightier in WL’s.
Also whilst moving and aiming in Breakpoint, you characters face will often start clipping into the gun they’re holding. AND if you move to close to scenery whilst aiming your character will then often spaz out pointing the gun up in the air or in odd directions or contort in strange positions before this corrects itself.
Wildlands doesn’t do any of that at all...
That's all Wildlands ever needed for a new title.Originally Posted by Icetyger4 Go to original post

Instead, we got streaks of green, blue and gold coming from downed enemies and more time in menus than I'd ever cared for in a game. They ruined it and released it anyway for the cash. Now we have to wait another 3 years making a total of 6 years without a good Ghost Recon game. A massive waste of developers and gamers time because of some d1ck in a suit crunching numbers.
Deep State and Div2's Warlords were also shameful cash grabs for a few hours of content. What happened to DLC like Curse of the Pharaohs for AC? That was incredible extra content and for £15 if I remember rightly. I'm so disappointed in this company and the sh1t they pull lately.
I don’t get people’s obsession with stories in games.Originally Posted by kniVes-6

And that’s certainly not why I play a game like Ghost Recon.
My friend and I play Breakpoint and every cutscene it’s like SKIP SKIP SKIP...
It’s like whatever, just give me the mission already!
