Honestly I think they gave up on Breakpoint anyway if they just redirect their staff Ubisoft Paris would redeem themselves as a Gaming studio. The fans would be please. Like this game was a scam made by the managers. I think Wildlands is more of a passion project and identifies more with the community. I mean there are so many game studios that continuously update their game as a live service like constantly making new improvements like Warframe etc. This could be possible especially with such a huge content packed game and timeless game like Wildlands.
That’s a great idea. I’d still like some things from BP ported across. Some of the terrain movement. I think the crouch animation is better in BP, particularly the downhill in a crouch animation and I quite like the three point contact on steep uphills. The movement in combat is also better and the CQC finishers are good. The injury system with a couple of tweaks is worth having and definitely the ability to drop any weapon wherever you are.Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
"The movement in combat is also better" ???
I'm finding it far worse, especially near any object. And indoors ... don't get me started!!
So that makes me ask; what exactly is the context here regarding "movement" and "combat" - I well might not be playing the game as the devs intended - this on a PC BTW.
Yeah .... no. Definitely not. Clunky glitchy... it’s not great.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
The movement mechanic in theory is more realistic, at least what they were going for.
But it’s glitchy and therefore wildly inconsistent.
Inconsistent is definitely the word to sum up Breakpoint.
Honestly the movement in combat is way better than Wildlands. Wildlands is so stiff and so immobile feels like an arcade 2D game. Breakpoint while not being perfect improves it slightly with a detached camera system and over all better animations. You can argue that you believe Wildlands is better, but I think you'd be running off a biased opinion from your preference of the game in general. Breakpoint has a more solid cover system, the only conflict with Breakpoint is that the game confines you to much tighter environments in comparison to Wildlands. Wildlands everything is larger more separate and oversized, the cover stick movement is slower and the character has to go through a slow animation of doing an entire 360 with his body in order to switch to the other direction cover. The only thing I can think that Wildlands did better in terms of movement is the prone movement.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
