No hero other than LB pisses me off more than Glad. He is completely broken imo. His attacks are too fast, his heavy does too much damage for the ridiculous properties it has. (You can just throw it to parry and even if they feint into gb it breaks it anyways.) His zone is the icing on the crap cake though. What a joke of a move guys, seriously. Its pretty much impossible to dodge unless you guess right, and an unblockable bash first before the actual hit? It drains too much stamina, comes out too fast and is safest move in the entire game. If you land the bash you get the hit, but if you miss just feint. Not to mention his dash light is literally faster than half the heroes' regular lights too. It closes the gap too fast so if you are using someone like HL, your just not going to win. Plain and simple.
His opening heavy was standardized along with everyone elses. Meaning it's no longer safe from feint into GB. If it's still bouncing off He's attempting to parry on light timing. Which means your GB bounces off since the window it was vulnerable to GB has passed since his heavy is out longer than your GB. Feint into GB only works if the opponent is attempting to parry on heavy parry timing. You beat light parry attempts by letting your heavy fly. Or feinting and parrying their parry attempt.
His zone is indeed a strong tool. But it's not as safe as you make it. Nearly every hero can consistently punish it. And he's not safe just by feinting it. If you'd like I can link you to a video that shows the way to punish the zone on a character by character basis. And his dash light is 500ms. So no, it's not faster. HL isn't a good hero and sucks against most of the cast. Wouldn't really base your argument of a hero being a problem by using HL as the example.
Gladiator's only busted move is his toe stab. Zone is a bit cheesy but is not busted. He can deff be annoying in 4's for sure. But I wouldn't say he's more problematic than any other effective hero at this time.

Raime: I would really watch that video. I find it quite problematic to deal with the better gladiator players with heroes who have no dodge attacks, the zone is very hard to beat. (the rest of the kit is not hard to fight, at least not harder than anything else, though he is clearly one of the assassins who actually work beyond low level).

I have seen the rare player who dodges the zone and goes for either the GB or parry so if they make the right read they can get glad for a heavy punish if they make a read for the feint and preemptively GB. I think his lazy 4 light chain and the toe stab are the most annoyingOriginally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
I also quite dislike the toe stab. Interesting how it went from being a meme move to busted simply because they changed the recovery and speed of it.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
You can win with HL, Glad is my second main and actually I'm decent with him.
Some high level HLs know how to punish my zones, bait me and Block my "fast" lights, so the only option is to bait them in return or try to feint a heavy with fucsina (the toe bash).
In fact the most powerful of them use a build based on: fast recovery, winners advantage, fury and champions aura... When I see HL with that build I know it will be a problem, they can do an insane damage output and they dare to disregard Second wind, so they are really Savage offensive players. Sometimes I think they are op, obviously is highlander so No, he is in fact outdated . But at the hands of a rugged, masochistic hardcore Highlander main, well, the character can become extremely dangerous to the point of make that impression due their great skill. They have skill actually cause they are using one of the weakest heroes. I'm talking here of 40 reps+ HLs. But to beat the decent and good glads you need patience and training.
Use more your Hiperarmor attacks, don't throw many lights without a feint or a bait if you do you are looking for a parry punish , practice your dodges on bash, blocks and parries, bait, bait, BAIT; your blocking skill must be very solid against assassins most of them depend on light mixes or dodge attacks , you need as a HL to outplay them with your brain not your brawn, I assure you, with patience you can stomp a glad.
