DKC and HHC I consider as removal lol. They “remove” most units. Also, HHC is a crapshoot, and with DKC/hercules you act like players are stupid enough to leave SOMM unprotected. Enforcer - SOMM is almost always charged by the time they cross paths at mid-line since SOMM is played in the far back, or right behind a tank for an even slower walk. Check out danny’s post where he lists EVERY SINGLE CARD and analyzes how good it is against SOMM. There are 15 realistic ones, and most are spells (that are nullified if they play YPC). Or play UC or trans to remove that tank making me either sit at 10 energy or im forced to play a low cost card just to bait the nuke and hope they trigger it and not wait for me to play another card. Also, this is the scenario I mostly hate being in when playing against SOMM.
It’s a tight and intense battle. We both have 4-5 units on the field. Im just about to destroy his units and get to the NK. Bam - SOMM in the upper right hand corner. I dont have a pb or removal in my hand (or deck). Nuke. My units are all ******. Game over.
Much fun. Such skill.

And yes JS we have gone over every option in great detail in the other thread on countering SOMM. A little over a dozen options (all with anti-counters) for a game with 150 cards (I honestly lost count how many there are). That has the record for the least counterable card in the entire game. And like we've gone over, most of them are spells. Even Buck says "counter with a spell". Spells spells spells. You know I want cards that are alternatives to spells right? I want to see characters fight not a game full of fireworks and explosions wiping the board every 10 seconds.

Get to see you posted a portion of a deck you just started to play.. and not your main deck or do you even have a main deck? You weren't clear enough.
In the end, If you're running PB powerbind, without UC, you deserve to lose. UC is a great card.

Also did you really just equate MC to Dougie with SOMM to a spell? You know it's not even close to the same thing right? And MC is only one of the thousands of card combinations you could use to counter a dougie, whereas SOMM's counters are in the teens.

Did you really just mock us for wanting the game to be more fun? You do understand what the definition of a “game” is right? Of course it’s supposed to be competitive, as literally all games where there are winners and losers are. But unless there’s some SPPD world cup and 1 million $ on the line for whoever is ranked higher that Im not aware of, your objective of playing this game should be a fun way to spend time, not filling your deck with the dickiest cards that gets you the highest rank. As usual, it comes back to the same arguments. One player wants to be able to win vs meta decks that feature strong legendaries by using purely non-meta cards, and another has an axe to grind against spells and thinks his playstyle should be able to work in a game that features spells as a core gameplay mechanic. We're probably not going to come together on this one... but it seems clear to me once again that the people who are arguing most strongly for a nerf are the same people who want to make their own non-standard play style function in a way that runs counter to how the rest of ht egame works. Sorry guys, there is indeed a meta and spells are indeed a thing. In light of that, there are plenty of counters and SOMM, while quite strong, is very manageable and in no way in need of a nerf.

It's interesting to note that a meta shift is definitely underway now by looking at the play data and talking with people in legendary. Since the last buff to MBP, mystical is coming back in a BIG way. All of a sudden it's shot up in the usage numbers and you're seeing a lot of MBP/pope decks floating around. It also acts as a hit to SOMM in a way due to gigantic HP pools that are now coming back in fashion. Even if you somehow were to get 1-2 shots off with SOMM, it doesn't do much of anything to a tank with over 3.5k HP. It really favors heavy fantasy as a response, which also a solid counter deck to adventure. Interesting to see how things mature with just 1-2 impactful card chages per season.
