https://twitter.com/The_Spier/status...61470827765764Yo! Many of you hit me up about Division 2 so I wanted to clarify that I’ve been off the game and working on other things for a while.
Direct your Div2 feedback to the awesome folks at Massive through the normal official channels.
Skulls/cats/metal and other cool **** incoming.
My thoughts on it. I figure it as much considering the state of PvP/DZ and the fact there has been no communication on PvP/DZ.
It has been a year since we had a state of the game that featured Terry Spier and Keith Evans at RedStorm talking about PvP and DZ.
Since then, there has been no communication on the state of PvP whatsoever. PvP is pretty much dead in the water without a dedicated PvP team. I doubt Massive has the ability to make it fun again. That said.
I think Redstorm is working on Division 3. It makes logical sense to release Division 3 next year (March 2021) since PS5 and Xbox Series X is releasing at the end of this year. An upgraded engine with new console hardware will give them the ability to do more with the game. There are too many limitations with current-gen consoles. I don't think it's feasible to maintain two different versions of the game for two different console generations. I know the new consoles will have backward compatibility.
i dont think redstorm is on divison3 to be honest i dont think 2 sold well enough to warrant ubi making a third one.lets be honest pvp failed in the first one you cant force pvers into pvp it never works and to be honest i dont see many true dz pvpers left the ones we have right now wont go rogue if the guy is a pvper they stay safe untill they see a pver..the dz in the seccond one was a half *** effort compared to the first one
I hope this doesn't offend you, but:Originally Posted by DeMizeFPS Go to original post
Good!
Massive needs to focus on making The Division 2 as good of a PVE game as possible. This isn't a PVP game. It's never been one. The DZ has ALWAYS been crap. Conflict has always been crap. A mess of hackers, cheaters, unbalanced meta, and the idiotic concept of pitching PVE loot farmers against hardened, experienced PVPers is fundamentally flawed and never should have been attempted in the first place!
And that doesn't even take into consideration the overwhelming competition of better PVP shooters to compete with: Call of Duty, Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, and now Valorant. What possible draw could The Division offer compared to those games? Oh....that's right: The broken, buggy, exploiter haven where trolls get to laugh as they kill undergeared PVE players.
Wow....much good, many balance, so PVP.
No surprise really. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Ubisoft say that The Division needs to either dump PvP or drastically redefine what it is.
I mean the few people on these forums who regularly play PvP don’t even seem to like it for the most part. And there are so many other PvP games out there, I don’t know that The Division’s tacked on PvP bits will ever compete.
I always liked Terry’s mug though, I thought it was hilarious.
