So under settings if I enable (use a replay camera) is that the camera designated to the camera for leaderboard replays ?
If so could i set up a camera with this enabled but not have it show up while your playing the track but shows up only on leaderboard Replays ?
Is there a way to test a custom replay camera?
I have one set that moves around a skill game race track with a path follow event like a drone camera. I set the game character as the target. I am using the red and blue cameras as game cameras because they are assisted and work better for driving sim.
With the custom replay camera enabled, it will try and move to that camera when the target is in range. If it is disabled, it does not follow target.
Will it still function for replays if camera is disabled?
If not...
Would it still follow target in replays if the target is out of range?
Will it stay with the path follow event in replays?
Will it have the same types? (Ex. Follow and Free)
If we could see a replay in the editor after triggering a finish, we could test custom replay cameras.
I would love to see a deeper tutorial with camera uses. Seems I kind of end up trying things and fiddling with them until I figure them out. I haven't even used the replay camera because I don't really know it's full functionalities.
Maybe Shogun could cover that in one of his editor streams sometime. I bet there are a lot of little tips and tricks that would come in handy.
No way to really test replay camera and when you test track in Private MP after finish it says skip next heat so you won't be able to test that either -try setting it as game camera first and see if its working before switching back. I'd keep it in range just turn distance up on camera. There's also a option always show visuals you could try using.
Made a new Thread about this in General Discussion - maybe we will get some answers there as well
I'm also wondering what locks out the Free Camera?
I have a custom camera in another track that has use as game and replay off - position and inherit on and always visual on and it shows as replay camera!
Think that was due to inherit settings from another camera with both those on instead of off.
It ran quite Smoothly in comparison.
Inherit will use the game cameras settings.
Position on will use the custom cameras position. Off will use the game cameras position with custom cameras direction.
Visual setting refers to in editor visuals like the white range indicator or the line for target. On will keep these visible in editor and not just when the camera object is selected.
Sounds correct !
I was talking about always show visuals in camera settings not editor visuals.
That's a nice option though
I think you can also inherit from any camera that's set to game camera!
Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this so I can Correct or discard so I'm not confusing others or giving bad intel !
(On anything I post anywhere on forums)
