Ahhh...I see. Clearly I do not fall in the category of "Hey, I'm sooo cool/hip/rad/whatever". 😂

And Here I thought It was just TD2 slang for a heavy. The cool hip blah blah aspect never came to mind. The salt runs deep in this community. Even after your take, it doesn’t mean that to me. Clearly you have some issues.

Lol I keep hearing this. And I don’t understand why it’s always the go to. I want to see massive do this or that, like that changes anything. That logic is so faulty. It’s irrelevant. I listened GDC talks of devs discussing difficulty options in a game. I remember one saying when asked, do you play on the hardest setting? He said no, I’m not playing on that. That’s for the crazy people who enjoy that stuff. I play on normal and laughed . But we understand it’s needed to keep more players engaged.

DARPA best time is clearly not for everyone. I’m a hardcore player and haven’t got it yet. If I never get it, so WHAT. It’s the thrill of the chase. What makes these multiple thread about darpa so mind boggling is that you can still get your little back pack trinket not touching darpa. So why is it so bad. No reason except that’s it’s hard. Unless that’s not “real difficulty” either. Another buzz word phrase around these parts 😂

The game was easy before and people left. The game was a joke. They listen to the loud mouth few and match making was dead. This change didn’t come out of thin air. They have data. If easy mode was working they would have KEPT IT! The games is still a far cry of how it was right after beta . Lol people crying about NPC shotguns and hyena SMG guy, don’t know ish about being 1 shot or not being able to leave cover because it was a death sentence.

Like the seasonal Challenges, the majority of the game can be ran on autopilot. There is only a Tiny tiny Tiny slice of the game that really pushes you. Get over it

Erm ... I posted some actually accurate information about the origin of the meme, and then made a joke about people's tendency to create their own secret lingo. The only salt that I see here is in the emoji posted by Trippul, which is crying tears of laughter.

You don't have to like the joke. That's fine. But zooming straight into a personal attack just because of that? In a post that contributes nothing else? You may want to take a look in the mirror, perhaps.

That said, if the joke hurt your feelings in any way, I apologize. It was intended to be light-hearted, not hurtful.

Hardly a personal attack. More like a deduction of your last paragraph. If the word issues was hurtful I apologize as well. Should have use “hang ups”. It wasn’t that serious.

No hard feelings. I guess the current atmosphere in this forum is a bit like a firestarter cloud waiting for the shot.

Not sure how laughing at myself for not being familiar with an apparently popular meme is considered being salty, but whatever I guess.

Wait...salty...tears...I get it. (Nothing gets past me! lol)

I think the problem that most people (myself included) have with DARPA, is that regardless of what difficulty you play it on, the final boss battle feels like you're playing on the next difficulty UP from what you have selected. It's way out of sync with other boss battles from other missions of the same difficulty.

For the record, I haven't tried DARPA since the recent patch that was *supposed* to bring it back in line, but judging by peoples' reactions in here, it seems like they didn't go far enough.

Heroic wasn’t touched. The NPCs agro the moment you enter the room, mortar spam with minimal warning, rolling out the way and getting sucked back into cover still happens, drone spam, NPC’s run at lightning speed, boss has 2 lives and hides way too much out of mine if sight, NPC’s rush you and one shot melee, Lucy (machine gun robot) and friends gallop around like horses either spamming nades or continuous fire.

Managed to complete this in tier 7 and get my patch for completing the mission 10 times. Never thought I would but I won’t be wearing the badge or doing near DARPA unless I really really have to.

Just need enough points to open the exotic and backpack trophy then I’m done. But I’ll be doing those next week. Bounties are okay but public execution are not. Tedious **** get boring fast and takes my enjoyment away.

I only used the 'chungus' term because the developers use it themselves on their live streams.

That was not the takeaway point I was hoping people would get from my post, which is that randomized spawns heavily influence the speedrun times that are possible on DARPA.
