What the hell is wrong with NPC dialog

What the bloody hell is wrong with NPC dialog? does anyone on this team even know how to write actual dialog for actual people. I am doing a side mission in Infinity searching for a scientist. went to the medical facility and started talking to Dr. Fletcher and like what the hell the dialog was so cringe

Instead of "Hi i am looking for a scientist on the run from sentinel named XXX." "Oh yes i helped him a few days ago but he left said he was heading XYZ"

she just starts blathering on about psychology, and how she views peoples minds not their bodies. and when i say i will return if i have questions, she tries to schedule an appointment.

NO ONE TALKS LIKE THIS. seriously did you all fire all the writers from wildlanls and set an intern with a psyc degree who hadn't had contact with another human for 6 months cause he was working on his dissertation, down in front of a computer and told him to write dialog for this side quest. REALLY?

if you guys need an actual writer with a creative writing degree just show me where to apply cause this is painful to listen to.

    Agree..

Npc dialog in this title, is very cartoony and comes off as amateur writing at best. I will admit most times that the dialog is unannoying and quite enjoyable AT TIMES. The rest of the times the “day to day” or normal dialogue is downright unacceptable and WAY to repetitive. It’s honestly one of the laziest parts of the game in my opinion. Civilian npcs just need to removed as their inclusion in most military bases is downright laughable. And not even to mention their horrendous dialogue reactions! “You’re invading my personal space!” HAHAHA are you ******g joking me right now? I literally shoot them in the face everytime the say something so stupid as that. It is SO bad. Who thought hearing that OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR HOURS was a remotely acceptable idea? Absolutely inexcusable and the obvious rectification is the complete removal of ******g civilians man cmon it is so bad.

Ubisoft has never had good or natural dialog in any of their games. Division 2 makes me want to claw my ears out. Odyssey is a cringe nightmare. too afraid to see what watchdogs 2 is like... I think Ubi keeps there teams locked up and they don't know how real people talk.

Their scene blocking and camera work are bare bones too. It's a joke they want to get into the movie business.

The Farcry franchise has generally been pretty good in the dialogue department but there is definitely a wokeness creeping in that is exacerbated to the point of uncomfortable with Breakpoint. I like the random comment from the enemy AI which is pretty comical and fits nicely for a bored soldier on patrol. However, the Islander NPCs are just awful especially once the interaction is over and they become a generic character one second later, crying and saying the most stupid things I've witnessed in any game. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. I think Farcry 4 and AC origins had really good dialogue.

As for GR, I do miss the Bowman character very much from Wildlands. I thought she was a well-rounded character with some good sass and aggression upon delivering NPCs for her to question.

I also liked the character development in RDR2 and the fact any NPC you had dealings with would remember you and reminisce past dealings.

I'm really starting to think that if you visited a Ubi office all the staff would be acting & talking this way & that they think the real world's the same as them.

I'm meant to be playing immersive mode, how immersive is it when upon finding an NPC with their hands tied behind their back to have them after you release them say "Stop invading my personal space".

My wife keeps telling me to shoot the ungrateful f*©ks in the face 😀

Ugh, that is by far the one of the most jarring issues to the game, in a sense that not only is the lack of a story already showing a lack of effort but having to go talk to one of them only to hear their stupid comeback, and a comeback that more times than not has no bearing on the actual question is just sad, how some people still defend this game is beyond me.

I do try not to pay attention to them or when they talk but it is actually hard not to be annoyed by it. I doubt that even those hippies drinking coffee at starbucks updating their social media status and wasting daddy's money while criticizing capitalism don't talk like that.
