Outcast Mission: Hostile Takeover Bugged | Forums

I just came after taking a couple months off from Breakpoint. The Outcast mission "Hostile Takeover" is bugged for me. This is the mission where you are supposed to release all of the Outcast POWs, and neutralize all of the guards. I have tried killing the guards 1st, then releasing the POWs, and sniping the locks off the cages without killing any guards. Every time, at least 2 POWs will not leave their cage, and the mission will not update. I have also tried leaving the mission area, and gone so far as to fly away in a helicopter. Is this mission hopelessly bugged?

I had the same issue and ended up finding a Reddit thread discussing the topic that provided a solution. It had something to do with how you open the cage doors if I remember right. I don't recall the exact specifics, but I restarted the mission and it worked the 2nd time around. I was driving me nuts.

Hey! We previously had an issue with NPCs not always following, however that was quickly resolved and doesn't seem to reflect your issue entirely.

As this is an issue I'm unfamiliar with, would it be possible to provide a video of your experience?

I finally got it to work. I ignored the mission for day, worked on some deep state missions, then went back to it. When i went back, i opened each cage from a distance and i waited between cages to give the guards a chance to find the rebels and attack them before opening the next cage.
