That's a false comparison or at least one made without complete information. The Cyberpunk devs have a game state that is 'complete and playable', if they did not want to get it out perfect first time and not make us wait for patches to fix things it would likely still be on for release this month, it is in a state where it is being tested and polished the bulk of which, sure, can be done from home. On the other hand we do not know what state of development the next For Honor patch is in, we know they do a lot in studios and that will fall under the same as every television series out there who have episodes in the can (Supernatural, Walking Dead finale) but can't release them because the things they need for post production they cannot, or whether through expense or the transition needing them to take risks to accomplish, choose not to do remotely. If it is just a matter of coding and numbers and talking on the phone or through emails, sure they could do something and putting out events is something that falls under that, anything else is not as easy. And again, all of this falls under non-essential work, if there is one single thing that cannot be done from home they really shouldn't be doing it.Originally Posted by Girl2Good Go to original post
So if you're openly admitting that you're not empathetic then you really shouldn't get twisted when I and others accuse you of being insensitive and the like.Originally Posted by Girl2Good Go to original post
Size has got nothing to do with the company. If the devs don't have the resources allowed to them there isn't much they can do.
That's fair to a certain extent. However, I would imagine most of what's coming in the patch (unless they have a huge surprise for us which I doubt) is basically numbers unless they have done pretty much nothing this whole time.Originally Posted by CandleInTheDark Go to original post
I was never hiding the fact that I'm not really empathetic to the situation nor was I getting twisted. I also don't think I'm being insensitive when everybody is going through this. It's not like the ubi devs are going through it alone. There is also a difference between being able to work at home and being forced to work out in pandemic.Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
Ubisoft has tons of resources if they are not giving it to the devs to work from home then that's not exactly a good sign.
I'll add my voice to this. Ubisoft stepping up and having their employees working from home to ride out the storm is a huge thing in an industry known for the exact opposite, crunch time (google it). No game in the world, and no patch, however big and important for the health of the game is more important than the life of even one person. A wait time of two months is nothing in times like these, and we should think ourselves lucky to live in a time where we have the technology to not only lock society down to protect people from a horrible illness, but to actually keep a game going at all.
To all who think these devs should stay at their job without interruption so you can have a game patch. Put your hands where your mouth is if you're healthy and go volunteer at your nearest hospital.
I thanks to all of you in UBI that still work to let us play this game. From home or what ever, patches and/or seasons can wait.
Yeah the game needs balancing, Assassins are weak, some chars are forgotten and cent needs help... Homever human lives are first so I will continue to support the game from my third World country, Which lacks a proper health care system and with a clown as a president.
Is understandable that you delayed the next season, so I wish for all of you UBI employees to stay safe, healthy and with some tranquility in this health crisis.
Godbless.
Could you fail any harder at being a troll? Seriously, you have some of the lowest IQ posts of anyone I've had the torment of interacting with. Hell, I've had more intriguing conversations with a zucchini!Originally Posted by MrB3NX Go to original post
