Completely agree with you man. They thought they could get away with it because well...massive

But I’m glad massive has drawn a line in the sand. Cheating plagued the first game and that’s what made it unbearable to play at times.

Let’s not go down that road again. And I hope youtubers etc stop making these exploits public. Forward the evidence to massive so they can address it rather than make it public and encouraging its use.

    That is Fact!

Ask in your clan, ask the players check the LFG Boards.

I am all up for disciplinary action being taken against players, where the Devs are 100% accurate in the punishment.

This has truly not been the case here and was a half arsed attempt at banning players without completing the in depth analysis of the situation.

If you were to carry out data analysis in such a piss poor way in your day job, you would be looking for a new one!
Unfortunately.. due to the nature of humans.. this is not "fact".

Do I believe in everything massive has done with 100% accuracy and trust? No.

Do I believe every person saying they never not once ever used the glitch and got banned? Less than I trust massive.

No one in my clan was suspended, some friends but they used the glitch. One person match made for legendary a couple of time didn’t use glitch wasn’t suspended.

I see this as a.... MASSIVE win for the community.

I'd go as far as to say that majority of the people that were complaining about the difficulty of this game are likely the same ones that were caught cheating.

So hopefully majority of these players will actually keep their word.

Instead of adjusting their play, adapting to game play mechanics, they thought the same exact glass cannon dps build was perfect for every single encounter in the game then cried about it until they forced the devs to constantly tune the AI. Which has in turn created some very bland engagements.
    AI just sitting in cover.

This could allow for more visible discussion about the actual game, mechanics, builds, ect.

This should allow the devs a bit of breathing room to fix actual issues with the game and release content.

Say what you want .The truth is.. division 1 got better after each of it's Exodus. Where there still issues? Sure. Did we get underground/pier/survival? Yup! Did we get new missions? Yup! Did we get bug fixes? Yup! Overall better balance throughout the entire game? Yup!

That was due to legitimate discussions being had on the boards. Instead of.. "arg rage.. bad massive!" Post after post.

I think this whole fiasco will in turn be a good turning point for the games community.

    Whatcha think?

Gotta say that was pretty damn spot on.

Of course, those are your opinions and you're entitled to them
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I don't agree. The "meta" as you refer to it has already shifted multiple times in the 1 year of division 2. The "meta" shifted countless times through out div 1. Meaning the entire idea of "meta" is not as concrete as one would believe.

Speaking of meta.. that really only applies to the subset of players that copy builds from their favorite YouTuber. I assure you that there are many of us out there there are not currently running a riflebuild/bakers dozen.

Only cheaters got banned, they lie about their bans, and even further lie when they open up their mouths on the forums.

What about the people who didn't cheat, have a nice build that can complete solo challenging but still find the game to be more punishing than fun, so they ask for optimizations from the devs.

Sorry you feel that way. I can only assure you I am not a troll. Have dumped thousands of hours into div 1 and 2 and have enjoyed majority of it.

Sure there are issues here and hopefully we can start fixing those issues sooner rather than later however I do not believe that the game is the dumpster fire that some make it out to be it and I am hopeful that without the some of the more (imo) obnoxious players flooding the forums with their nonsense we can get to a better place.

Massive patched the "symptoms" not the reasons.

Besides, the toxicity will continue, not that I like it, but it will and that's bad, for everyone. And even if it's "quiet" in here for the next days or weeks, the next three-dollar sale will come and with it new "spirits". Preventive, I think a game like The Division 2 for that price (of $3) is a present, but that's me.
