Now this is a thread I can get behind.
Loot does need to be fixed.
I understand loot is based on tiers of difficulty, and that needs to be looked at because getting into the higher tiers of difficulty in this game isnt based on how good your gear is atm, it's based on gimmicky builds or pure damage luck builds.
Starting in hard, purple drops need to be eradicated. I understand triple god rolls shouldnt drop at this tier but single god roll stats should be at least 20% of drops. That way you can push into challenging.
Challenging should drop double god roll stat items, say near 15% frequency. Single stat max roll items at this tier should be over 30% of drop.
Once you're into heroic, triple max stat items should have near 10% drop rate. Double max stat items 30%, and single max stat items 50%+
Implement all that, and lower the overall item drop rate say 40%. That way more useful stuff drops.
The loot tables definitely need looked into.
Your numbers are waaaaaaaay too high.Originally Posted by CSpaceCowboy Go to original post
Challenging requires absolutely 0 god rolls to push into. Hard dropping 20% god rolls, just no.
You're portraying the game way way way harder than it is.
Again your numbers are way out of proportion. If challenging had a god roll x2 droprate at 15% you could basicly get any set fully god rolled in a matter of hours. You also don't need any full god rolled items to advance to heroics.Challenging should drop double god roll stat items, say near 15% frequency. Single stat max roll items at this tier should be over 30% of drop.
Again way too high. Everyone would have all 3xgod rolled sets in less than 20~40 hours playtime after hitting 40. And there would be basicly no point in playing pve.Once you're into heroic, triple max stat items should have near 10% drop rate. Double max stat items 30%, and single max stat items 50%+
Even with that in mind my above replies stand.Implement all that, and lower the over item drop rate say 40%. That way more useful stuff drops.
I agree, your numbers are just way off unless you want players to leave a week after hitting 40.The loot tables definitely need looked into.

Just because you're using a "meta" build doesn't mean every one else can do challenging.
QUIT saying the game is easy and you don't need god rolls....
You actually do....
People LIKE you are what ruined this game...
Random affixes + random values, and you get bad loot 99.9% of the time.
RNG cannot be the only thing in a looter, boundaries must be in place.
Gear should have higher chances to roll affixes of the same color of their core attribute. ATM most gear is useless just by pure color mismatch, without even looking at the rolls.
Talents should also be free to recalibrate, so we can afford a bad affix on chest/backpack/weapon, because ATM there are 4 out 5 things that need to roll correctly and in high enough value for a piece of gear to have value: Brand/Weapon, Talent, core, and 2 affixes (and the mod socket, even)
I get what you're saying. I was just throwing out numbers to give an idea. Those numbers could be cut in half.Originally Posted by Escritores Go to original post
But factor into this that not everyone runs an all red build, and drops rates overall would be cut in half.
Also consider that items are dropping with random stats.
A for instance is the chest piece I got last night.
It was "the sacrifice" it rolled max weapon damage, then two very low utility stats. Items like this are effectively useless at higher tiers and are just used as stepping stones to crawl your way up.
-edit-
When wony came out we were told we would have to keep less items in stash as we would need less items overall because less drops but more purposeful drops.
Well I can tell you that isnt what's happening right now. It is definitely broken.
That makes no sense. If your gripe is with how certain gear/weapons/skills perform/works that's another matter and has nothing to do with droprates.Originally Posted by CptCombatGamer Go to original post
No... You don't.... I'm doing heroics just fine and not all my items are 3xgod rolls... So are the people I play with and they all use different builds than me and again without 100% 3xgod rolls.QUIT saying the game is easy and you don't need god rolls....

Not trying to be rude here but, you should probably work more on your playstyle and knowledge of game mechanics before worrying about builds and droprates...
Uhm... Okay.People LIKE you are what ruined this game...
Well as I said I do agree loot needs to be looked at, there's denying that and I agree that purples need to **** off in anything above normal.Originally Posted by CSpaceCowboy Go to original post
I am factoring that in, I have several builds.
I am, but anything besides chest, backpack and weapons you only need 1/3 to be wrong to get it 3x.Also consider that items are dropping with random stats.
Well in my opinion they should look at the margin %s in which they drop in the various difficulties, so basicly nothing statwise below 75%-100% (just a random number as an example) for instance drops in Heroics and nothing below 60%-100% (again random number) drops in challenging or something along those lines.A for instance is the chest piece I got last night.
