I personally prefer glass cannon on chest, but you need to play carefully. Other options are Obliterate for example, Unbreakable if you want to play it safe.
On backpack I have Vigilance, you can use composure if you think that's too hard to keep up cuz you take damage.
I also use the Coyote mask when solo, and The Hollow Man mask while in a group with others who use Coyote mask.

With how things work in the game currently, your best bet is getting crit chance/crit damage and weapon damage as high as possible. Also best weapons seem to be rifles and Lmgs, Classic M1a and MG5(infantry because of muzzle break option) to be more precise.
    Here's the problem.

You said your MG5 does "600-800k body shots". The base damage on an MG5 is 44.7k. In order to reach even 600k hits, you'd have to be doing somewhere around 1400% damage from your gear. I don't know all the math involved, but that seems unlikely to be obtainable.

Did you mean DPS? Not 600-800k PER BULLET?

its not 600k per bullet. its 600 crits. Which is easy. 15% weap damage on each piece, 50+ % crit chance and as much crit damage as possible, which in my case is 168%. On top of all that Fox's Prayers kneepads, which gives 15% damage to out of cover targets, 12% more out of cover targets from the LMG itselfs, 11% armor damage from Contractor gloves. on top of all that Vigilance on backpack, which is 25% damage, and Glass cannon or Perfect Glass cannon, which is 25% or 30% more damage. On top of that you can add 21% damage to health from the hollowman mask, 8% more damage to health from my lmg.. you see how it adds up? And if other group members are using the Coyote masks thats can be up to 35% more crit damage, and other sources.

My MG5 has a base damage (on paper of 44.7k as you said) + all the weapon damage from gear that put's it to 107.2k with a per bullet shot of 226k with vigilance active, around 176k without it and up to 270k with hollowman mask on heavies/dogs etc that dont have armor bars.

Here are my stats just to clear it up for you:
    Weapon damage 107187
Crit chacne 52.7% cayote mask and 46.7% with Hollow man
Crit damage 168.2% with cayote mask and 156.3% with Hollowman
    Headshot 115%
    Damage to Armor 11%
Damage to health 8% and 29% with The Hollow Man mask

    Offense stats:
    100% All weapon damage
    40% LMG Damage
Currently using 2 piece providdence (chest and backpack), Coyote or hollowman mask, Named Petrov (contractor) gloves, Names Overlord Kneepads (Fox's Prayers) and Grupo sobra holster (you can use Providence to but i got this full max rolls)

Also keep in mind that not all my gear is full godroll.

No, full red build with glass cannon, smg as main weapon (my shd lvl around 520). If you dont use m1 or bullet king ammo is big issue for all weapon builds. Thanks massive for genius game design i ever seen.

I'd say the problem is with weapons, SMGs, ARs and shotguns are really underperforming.
