Blue said Wildlands was 5 and a half years in develpoment and that world was a huge vast mostly empty world compared to GTA5 which also took 5 years. R* also managed to have great writing, sound, graphics etc etc in that time also.

I mean Wildlands' world was pretty alive, you can see the Mike's posts in the Wildlands photomode thread of that, but one thing you have to consider as well is budget, GTA 5 is one of the most expensive games ever made at 265 million dollars, while Wildlands is somewhere around 80 to 100 million (Though the official numbers aren't available publicly, so that's just a guess), and not to mention Rockstar's focus is on that story and dialogue, as stated by the Houser twins (CEOs at Rockstar) due to wanting their games to be more like "movies" than games. Still 3 additional years for polish and details makes a large difference.

Fun fact of the day: RDR2 was originally going to have really smooth and tight gunplay, however soon after the changes to gunplay were made, the Houser twins got furious at the gameplay designer(due to the whole games as movies thing, and the new gameplay wasn't as "cinematic"), forced him to change it back, and then shortly fired him after that.

What would you say Ubi's focus is on? For me gameplay should come first and foremost but i feel Ubis focus is on mtx and building around that.

I mean honestly, probably high tier mediocrity, Ubisoft's game design since Farcry 3 has been best described by Jim Sterling as "games by committee", and I think that's pretty accurate, as they're all built to be as "approachable" and accepted by a wide audience as possible, which is why they're all almost built as a checklist, and why their stories feel like they say nothing, with the shining examples of this being Farcry 5 and Division 2 where they completely squandered any opportunity to have a message even though 1 game involved fighting an evangelical militia cult in the US, and the other one took place in the literal heart of US politics, and yet said absolutely nothing about either of those topics. Sure you have exceptions on either front like AC: Black flag, Wildlands, and Watchdogs 2, which were all rather exceptional and way above normal Ubisoft standards, but overall, Ubisoft seems to go for the lets make an game experience that's a middle ground between something like generic fetchquest MMO(any Bethesda world honestly) and the higher end open worlds like Rockstars', Witcher 3, or Breath of the Wild, however they're carried by high tier world design and art style, as Ubisoft's art styles for their games are actually pretty good if you ever go look at concept art, with even Breakpoint for how that terribly that turned out from a design perspective, it at least has a really well defined and unique art style with regards to how certain buildings, characters, and locations are designed.

TLDR: Over all 6-7s out of 10s, but nothing special.

I'm pretty sure their focus is mtx, loot boxes and making games as a service (always online for no reason). With their latest releases they lost all my respect. For me Ubisoft is at the bottom of the list in gaming companies, with R* being 1 place above them due to their greediness and shark card fetish. In the past Codemasters used to be at the bottom of my list due to their broken F1 games, but with their latest release they redeemed themselves and also did what the community asked for. The community shows them a bug and the devs jump all over the issue and voila, an update is released in less than a month with various bug fixes and also new features. UbiParis on the other hand releases an update every 2-3 months and instead of fixing bugs they do the opposite and bring more bugs

Yeah I pretty much agree with the sentiment on Rockstar, not to mention their cooperate culture is absolutely disgusting when you look into it (It's ran like an oppressive frat house), but I would take off Codemasters and put Riot in their place with their abundance of cash cow esports games that are so unoriginal and uninspired that it makes Ubisoft look like an Indie dev, and once again the corporates culture being an absolute joke (I mean CEOs and higher-ups literally farting on people's faces and grabbing their balls, come the f*ck on).

Many changes which was implemented is hated by players: awful TTK which made PvP almost unplayable, changes to exotics (best tier weapons and gear) which now one of the worst items comparing to lower tiers, timed events and many other problems.

    2. Far Cry 5 was great, but after that they released Far Cry New Dawn. Basically, same thing happened like with Breakpoint comparing to Wildlands: AI teammates was butchered (not completely, but almost), was implemented tiered loot and enemies, story went from realistic to Fantasy (post apocalyptic world) and, as a result, game was on sale after month since release.

    3. Last AC got some very bad things like grind which is needed to progress the story, paid expirience/money boosters (in SINGLE PLAYER GAME!!!), again tiered loot and enemies... It is better than Breakpoint, but much worse than fourth AC - Black Flag.
Actually The Division 2 got better not worst. There’s a lot of new things they have after the end game content. After beating the warlords you will see the game true overhaul. Plus there’s something new every 1-2 weeks in that game now. I not sure what you mean by worst

Perhaps, but that crew that keeps ruining TD2 with their fixes are in solid contention...
