Most of the time I forget to switch to it because they are so situation specific that they generally get ignored.
- TAC-50 C: Almost never. Light on the ammo cap for what it can do. My Nemesis does slightly less (300k - which isn't much when considering the TAC-50 does 2.4M for me), and low amount of ammo means it doesn't really benefit me to switch when I can just use the Nemesis - This is the easiest for me to get ammo for though
- Crossbow: Seldom. Only real use is dogs and heavies (non-named)
- Grenade Launcher: Good if I find a group walking together (rare as that may be) - I find this one tough to even get ammo in the first place
- Technician Occasionally, when I remember that it's there. Most of the time I'm running a skill build with this, so seeker mines seem to work better anyway
- Minigun Seldom. Armor build, it does too little dmg to be worth it. DPS build, you take too much dmg to sustain it (it takes too long to pull out, bonus armor is stripped before I even get to shoot most of the time.
- Flamethrower Seldom. Doesn't hit up close - mobs have to be some distance away for it to hit. Fire dmg doesn't stack on top of itself, therefore, the only use of this is to swipe around to CC some mobs, hoping to then switch to main to kill them. (more useful in a group setting for CC purposes)
I wish we can get a little more ammo during mission encounters, or at least for skill builds. For example, when I run my all CC build in Gunner spec, I would really like to have more ammo for the minigun. As an all CC build, you're main weapon damage is pretty bad, and you don't kill that many people (which makes sense, it's not your job). But if I could reliably count on more ammo, at least I'd be able to help out a little more. This would especially be helpful when running in groups that don't necessarily have powerful damage builds, which is necessary on the higher difficulties.Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
Note, I'm not looking to be OP with the special weapons, as I can see there being potential in just increasing the drop rate, but there are enough circumstances that render them almost useless and it's a shame.
