Massive is rolling back all the charged accounts to 17th of March when the damage glitched actually happened 2 days after
Proof: https://imgur.com/dPynkY2
The damage glitch surfaced on the date of 19th of March and the exploiters are getting their account rolled back to the date of 17th of March. That's 2 days behind when the glitch actually surfaced online and started to gain mass popularity. Massive, rolling back accounts might not be much of a repercussion for you but you have to understand that within these 2 days alone, there are again thousands of accounts getting rolled back to a state where they farmed their gear legit and this is without even the exploit being known at that moment. Tons of people have gone through the content and personal progression legit between the 17th to 19th, but the rollback is obviously "fair" right for it to happen back to the 17th.
Also, getting your account rolled back to 17th March is also making the affected people lose the following -
- All the Westside League rewards and cosmetics
- All the Polarity Switch rewards and cosmetics
- +2 exotic caches from both the league and the global event
- Missing the first week of the "Urban Jungle" apparel event which had double XP
- 2 days of whatever legit loot + progression they made through between 17th to 19th of March
- SHD ranks earned during the legit playthrough
- Specialization points earned during level up indirectly making them lose specialization progress too
Apart from all these, the current state of the game right now pertains to -
- Damage glitch is still not fixed and is prevalent in the game. And yes, am not even kidding about it. The damage glitch still as of this date 4th of April is in full effect in The Division 2 (if you want proofs, go look it up on youtube (links shall not be mentioned here for obvious reasons of course)).
- YouTubers/Streamers (in some cases, both), who had performed the damage glitch still creating everyday content (hah, what a surprise right?!). Again am not talking about Widdz or whoever people think they have beef with. Widdz already had clarified in his latest video that he did not exploit during this "ongoing damage glitch" but had in the past, but there are still loads of unbanned and guilty as charged "online creators" out there because the "blanket ban" happened to escape them.
- There have also been reports of many people also not getting banned despite performing the glitch repeatedly, so how is a "sugar coat" ban wave fair when it didn't go through everyone?
- 100's of 2 min Raid clear glitchers in the leaderboards didn't get receive any sort of ban and are happily still playing the game everyday (again not even remotely joking, open your in-game leaderboards and check it out yourself).
- The "Infinite Raid Key Glitch" is still effective as of 4th of April and who knows when it will be fixed. Many of the white knights are defending Massive that the ban + rollback was justified, but answer me one thing. How can you be so sure that nobody is running the raid key glitch right now in the game as of this very moment when the glitch is very much active to full effect?
- https://youtu.be/jRbBkhg4OU0?t=229 - "Our detection methodology is very strong and was 100% right, amirite?". Oh, and also we won't reveal any of our "detection process" even in the customer support when asked because otherwise "many others will be using that to avoid the detection in the future".
Massive, instead of analyzing the situation at hand and prioritize to fix the "Damage Glitch" asap first so there is no way to ever replicate it again, what they did was try to fix the glitch somehow haphazardly, and then issue a mass account rollback even if it was not the right choice. The ban also itself didn't cover every single exploiter out there.
If your own detection methodology is flawed from the get-go may be "account rollback" wasn't the right decision overall and should have been cross-checked first repeatedly because the implications of it is huge.
This is the type of scenario which makes people lose trust in a company Massive; and if you still think that all the people who are currently whining "deserved it", go think about it again. All these posters saying that they will "leave the game" after the ban wave is over is a pretty serious issue at this point, we have already seen all the negative uproar starting to flood the online sites (Metacritic for example; oh and I also 100% bet you if The Division 2 actually released on Steam all this influence would have already dwindled to "Overwhelmingly Negative" rating far ahead when WONY launched).
Was the ban wave justifiable? Absolutely. Those who glitched the game to have unintended consequences definitely deserved the 1 week ban. But, was the absolutely horrendous and hasty decision of un-needed rollback which will make thousands of people lose both their legitimate progressions alongside the "event" rewards and cosmetics necessary? IMHO, not a chance by any stretch of the imagination. Massive may think otherwise, but I plead y'all if you think about this very deeply (and do consider my points which I have listed above) you will know why.
They might not do daily backups, so they might have only had the option of rolling back to a day or days after the glitch surfaced or 2 days before. Given that these people cheated, rolling them back a little before rather than after is probably the better choice. Or perhaps they decided to roll back to when the cheating first started at a larger scale, not when it went public.
Personally I don't have a lot of sympathy, don't cheat next time.
I bet all of you did use bugs and exploit in The Division 1 when everyone got scared to death because they thaught Massive is gonna do something about the players who abused it.
"Mobile Cover" glitch to shorten the mission and went straight to the boss "police station" also the iconice "Bullet King" bug/glitch.
And Massive did nothing against those players but and every player was happy
Anyway The Division 2 is now officially a "minefield"![]()
with every update they apply a new bug/glitch will be born,
but I know for sure a 2nd ban wave is coming and this will be the last ban wave![]()
my dear who ever you are dont compare Glitches to cheats/ hack or stolen bla bla bla every body pay legit amount of money for wony dlc all players have every right to play what present in ingame so get ur facts right that their mistake no one cheat or stole nobody can stole something that they have already owned
