This makes sense & I wonder if the Revenge Mechanic will be reworked in the next Testing Grounds. It does seem like teams that know how to gank with this tactic can beat you as your revenge fills up slowly. The only concern I'd have is that when your opponents are also tagged by your hits could it then theoretically feed their revenge faster if your teammates come to help you?Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
I've said something like this a long time ago. Players (at least the experienced ones) are smarter in ganks now and the fact that one can attack you while the other one waits for you to be easier to kill is annoying. Revenge needs to start up as soon as two enemies come within a certain distance from you. Revenge should definitely continue to build up to prevent people from straight up running away or stop attacking till "insert anything related to cent cutscenes here"
I'm of two minds about this, because this is smart play on their part. Why risk feeding Revenge instead of setting up a clean gank?
But the longer they take to fight you without feeding Revenge, the longer it gives your teammates to rotate over (...hopefully). So there is a downside.
because as it stands now revenge feed is buggy/inconstant and so is the anti damage stack mechanic. Ironically your team wants stronger offense in the game but then punish offense in this situation. When i throw out attacks in a gank I run the risk of being hit in the back or guard broken. If the same person is doing the damage then I will never get revenge. Furthermore, with how the game handles locking on you are not even guaranteed the ability to control the situation.Originally Posted by UbiInsulin Go to original post
I'm not saying get rid of revenge but give players other options to suit their play style and so the opponent can't anticipate how you're hero will respond to a gank.
Some ideas.
1. Normal revenge
2. Add option for stats to go up by a quarter for every person ganking you
3. Add revenge feats that can only be accessed for a short time like sands of time
4. Add a temp level 3 bot that appears when being ganked by 3 or more similar to the Prince.
5. Shaolins teleport like ability that will
6. Add a shield rather than revenge when revenge bar is full.
teleport you to a random spot on the map when ganked with a 1 in 20 chance of teleporting back to the spot you're at.
I'm just saying it could be more spontaneous and less repetitive.
