Can't even begin to say how many times I've been taken out by a random zone attack or heavy that seems randomly kill my character even though I'm blocking or parrying with the proper timing while the opponent unlocks & either focuses on another player or just unlocks completely. Not sure what's going on.
Only the main target may parry the attack. Try to position yourself behind the opponent, or on the other side, not on the zone's (for example, on the left of a warden or right of an orochi). Zones are also dodgable easily by external opponents, undodgeable properties are only applied to the main target. Fullblocks can also punish attacks (for example, bp can flip even if he is not the main target).
I hate how he is the only player in the game able to make these kind of punishes [mainly on unlocked unblockables]. But what this OP is saying is not even necessarily true, i think he is just not noticing the unlock and tries to parry so he gets hit, it's very easy to just keep your guard ready for most huge attacks. It is the unblockables/magnetic attacks that are straight up BS.Originally Posted by Goat_of_Vermund Go to original post
I have seen conquerors getting their flail uppercut against targets who only external ly hit them, and if it indeed works, it must work for Aramusha and Warlord too. I am also unsure how superior block attacks, like superior lights, behave, though that is probably a thing not working here.Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
The unlock techs are actually not a thing. That was part of what was patched out when we lost minion kill animations. Unlock techs were ways to nullify Parry attempts by certain heroes by means unlocking mid fight while throwing an attack.
External Parry attempts, however are not possible. What that means is, if hero A idls fighting(locked in to him) hero B and uses a zone, he's not going to get parried by hero C(the external fighter)
Unlock tech was patched out several seasons ago. Unlock tech was using a set of input sequences to make an attack unparryable, unblockable, and in some cases made the attack even faster for EVERYONE.
Target swapping an attack to make the person you previously were locked onto not able to parry is using the games mechanics. You cannot be parried by an external fighter normally. Target swapping doesn't change this at all.
Ok so that still means that your opponent could just let fly and unblockable heavy and unlock to no one and you would't be able to parry it since you're technically not the primary target anymore?Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
