    Additional bans? Hopefully not

Hello, so yes I am banned to begin with and have accepted the punishment to an extent but my real question is:

Will there be another ban wave for next week over loot and xp glitch?

If so will that affect the ban we already have and result in a permanent ban? I have seen around on youtube comments and other places that there might be another ban wave so I'd like to hear thoughts about the what ifs and potential future of what people are going to do.

    Thank you

I think that, with the rollback they plan on implementing, that you will lose any ill gained loot you got from other glitches, so I hope they will roll it all into this one, and hope their social conditioning does what it is they want, and discourages all but the worst principled people from continuing to use exploits. There were exploits in the past, as has been pointed out, and they seem to have left it to the community to police themselves by not taking action. This approach obviously failed , so they resorted to the bans. I honestly think, though, that permanent bans will be very rare.

Or I could be totally wrong

I believe they've said that permanent bans would be reserved for incessant cheaters. Anyone who has already been through this ban wave/rollback will be fine, unless they do it again. I mean, it really shouldn't be too difficult to work this out. Don't cheat, don't get banned. Don't cheat repeatedly even after being temp banned, expect to get permabanned.

They haven't announced a second ban wave - but most people don't announce ban waves in advance.

The only thing they confirmed is anyone who cheats a 2nd time will get a permanent ban.

Lots of MMOs announce bans ahead of time and put a message on your chat window as soon as you log into the game letting you know that they are running a task force to find whatever exploit/rmt activity is currently being tracked. FFXIV even post the report of how many were banned, suspended, or permanently removed along with what assets and amounts of currency were removed. Weird how people assume that Massives punishment is standard in the gaming industry. Also a very wealthy man and intelligent man once said "I have never seen a business go under that took care of it's customers" and Warren Buffet has been around a long time.

Also to the original question I am pretty sure they cannot call double jeopardy on an account and they will not ban anyone else for any told the other glitches currently. A business cannot handle that type of scrutiny and risk. This could all have been avoided had they put a warning in the message screen when people logged into the game and said we will ban accounts permanently or temporarily if you do such and such activity. Hind sight is 20/20 though.

Dang man you were just running the glitch gambit weren’t you! No glitch left behind. I get it you didn’t wan the other glitches to feel bad.

You’ll be ok I’d say. In hindsight playing legit may seem like a whole new game to you, so there’s that.

I’m just messing with ya if it didn’t come across that way.

Blizzard, Microsoft, CCP Games, Valve, and EA, all ban people without advance warning, in large numbers, and usually in waves. It is literally the most common thing for a developer to do. No company will ever disclose how they detect cheaters, nor will they give advance warning to anyone beyond maybe a single warning that cheating won't be tolerated. It is literally the industry default. If you are going to tell lies, make sure you are doing it to your internet illiterate grandma or something, not a forum full of tech and gaming literate people who know how to use Google.

Another Black Tuesday? Anyone caught in that net will get a 7 day ban and a rollback to March 17th. It would be an even worse punishment than the first wave, a whole extra week. Hold onto your hats, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Was I incorrect in my statement about FFXIV? Nope. Interesting that you went straight to insults like a petulant child. You want people to believe you are intelligent and have some kind of specialized knowledge of video games on the internet? I hear the best way to gain credit is to threaten people. By the way they was a very specific insult about my dead grandmother which ever of the 4 of them you are refering; could it be something personal to you? And you still didn't prove me wrong I said the norm as in everyone does it and you only mention 6 companies? What about Bungie, Nintendo, Capcom?

Edit: By the way H.G. Wells would be ashamed of your post. He was brilliant at delivery.
