My friend and I made it to the gator pit, now before someone decides to blame builds, the only 'trouble' we had in all of the previous missions and all of the zoo up to this point was the mortars. We made it to the gator pit, killed the first sniper dog and immediately FOUR sniper dogs and a minigunner spawn. There is no cover in the gator pit, no where to retreat to, how on earth is that 'balanced'? What are people supposed to do in that situation? Maybe if we both had emp/ pulse and managed to get them grouped up but come on! That is stupid AF, it is a tiny engagement area and you have sniper dogs that don't care about anything other then running all over to one shot you and you spawn four of them?! AND a minigunner. and it's heroic so all the way back to the start with you. How is this 'cover based shooting' when the enemies just charge at you in a tiny area and there are enough of them to cover all angles?! Sniper dogs need a serious looking at, or maybe dou spawning needs another pass, I don't know but that engagement was BS and caused my friend and I to rage quit.
In my opinion, the whole mortar thing is annoying but my solution is to just stand near the busted doors and use a "Sniper Rifle" to take out the enemies or lure them in and just take them down from behind a crate or something. The real trouble for me was the "Gator Pit", warhounds and a mini-gunner, instant death![]()

The only times I do (or did) those missions is when they're a manhunt pre-requisite... and even then they feel terrible.
You kinda answer it yourself... a tech build with an EMP pulse would likely cover the whole small area and take all the snipers out of the picture long enough for a DPS to take care of maybe two, and then the pulse should be close to coming out of cooldown. Since the fight doesn't triggers until you step in the middle, you even have time to change your equipment and go temporarily tech.
Your Tank needs to hold the mini-gunner's attention while your Skillers alternate EMP pulse to control dogs, and your DPS/glass cannon bursts them down. Once you kill one dog it will take out the other dogs temporarily, giving you time to kill each one in turn. Just keep your tank alive and then once dogs are dead, switch onto mini-gunner. Keep his chain broken while DPS pounds his armor, then take him down.
