The REAL State of The Game
One thing needs to be established up front. TD2 is just a game and as such, it should be fun and a place where a lot of us made new "friends" through forced events like the Dark Hours raid Legendary content, etc and so on. I used to be a solo player and still for the most part enjoy playing by myself. Sometimes I enjoy taking it nice and slow so I can check all the corners and grab resources or just take breaks to grab water, etc. I also suffer from occasional mild epileptic seizures and I know my limits, so I do not push my limits and there are other disabilities that prevent me from running at the speed a lot of the guys in my clan like to speed farm Heroic missions on. With all that being said, TD2 is probably one of my favorite games to date. Sadly the balance since WoNY has seen my personal click inside of our clan go from 100% of us after the raid to 40% who purchased it down to now under 30%.
1. Quality of Loot over Quantity? We run NOTHING but Heroic. Let's use JTC for example. Fairly quick mission to run and potential Exotic at the end if you're looking for one, which we all know Exotics are perhaps on par with Named items now, Merciless, Sawyer and now Mask. Did I miss one? You may get a few items that have a max roll on it like armor regen or status effect but the majority will have percentages just over half way. Now this is 2 or 3 of us running it together. Basically it is same old same old but just less loot dropping now. We've all seen the YT videos so I'm not saying anything new here.
2. Red level enemies stripping armor in 2 shots. No, I do not have 1 million armor and the game does not allow it since their is zero build diversity for it if you want to kill elites, named, etc. Again, we have seen the videos and I have a healing build where it is all stacked into yellows and I feel like my weapons shoot nerf darts with the suction cup tips. I can heal my guys on legendary runs but unless the 2 guys throwing down DPS and the other is doing CC with the firefly and foam. But listen, even with 1 or 2 million armor as some guys have, I watch their armor disintegrate in a few shots.
3. Skills. i.e. Healing drones are useless unless you have a skill build because it takes FOREVER for the drone to repair your armor. I feel like the brightness and thickness of the green healing emitted from the drone can also be very distracting while in combat. Couple the tremendously slow repair time and fact that it does not repair health, repair drone is useless now. The new Tier System is ONLY good for yellow builds ONLY. PERIOD. Which this doesn't bode well for DIVERSITY, does it?
4. HEALTH/Status Effects... A small drop from a ledge and you lose a percentage of health and it takes forever to get it back. Poison grenades or whatever you call the grenades the Lost Faction uses in Federal Bunker. Outcasts and flame grenades are burning my Unbreakable so fast it ticks it once, then twice and then downs me in an instant. However, if I shoot their pouch with what I would only assume would be MULTIPLE grenades, it only takes a bar or two of armor away? Balance..... A game needs balance and this update is lacking in anything that resembles it.
3. Drone Operators are annoying and can be fun when outside of say numbers of 2 or surrounded by Dogs, Wally-E's, Rushers, etc. Shoot the drone above their head and either kill them or do serious damage. Legendary, just two of them can send literal STREAMS of drones at you? True Sons Heavy Grenade Launchers spam the F out of the grenade rounds and they ONE SHOT you. If I did not have Unbreakable, there is no telling how many times I would have been killed. So yea, there is build diversity or I would use Overwatch or Obliterate.
4. If this isn't just for fun and just a game and they are trying to make it as "realistic" as possible, then why wouldn't we be able to equip the most hard hitting stuff as possible? So if Fox's prayer, Contractors gloves, etc stack up in PvE which has ZERO effect on other players in the game unless you are in a group of friends and you are have a DI*K measuring contest over kills, etc, why nerf/rebalance this? The devs need to look at the super hero NPC's and not how the players, I.E. people who pay them their paychecks and balance them from being sponges or who a shotgun from the opposite side of the map can break my armor like a rifle in 2 or 3 shots. A converted smg-9 from cover that I can't even see through a pole can also break my armor. Better yet, we have ALL had an elite down to where you can barely see their health standing out of cover and when we break cover to kill them, they shoot us a few times and almost kill us...…..
Y'all are probably as tired of this as I/we are. THe devs are more worried about nail polish and going live and forgetting about wearing his skirt then fixing the REVIVE hive. Fixing the DPS exploits. the few nightmare issues above.
Balance. Guys in my clan are now playing Yu gi oh *sp, Seige, Warframe, Breakpoint (we know how broken that title is and oh it is Ubisoft), Rocket League. Most haven't even done the last two weeks of the season. I know there are guys in this forum that are the defenders of all things TD2. If you can't agree on the basics, watching someone with 1 million armor getting blazed by a red in 3 shots, then you are an apologist and if you feel like a Molotov should burn unbreakable twice and then put someone down is normal, you are an apologist. Challenging is fun. Easy is boring. Unplayable is unplayable. Making excuses like having to add extra stuff because of rendering space, etc and then giving them a healing box, blah blah… To a faction that has tech... dog, tanks, drones, etc. LAUGHABLE
