The one thing Destiny 2 does right is increase named items chances when you don't get it from a specific instances.
Running the same stronghold/mission over and over is tedious and boring. There should be some kind of system to improve chances.

Yeah. Running the same instance 50 times with 0 drops is kind of disheartening. I've literally burned out and had to stop playing because it just stopped being fun. One way I've seen some devs deal with it was to reward some sort of credit for each successful run. You could then buy loot boxes with those credits for a chance to get the item. Similar to the GE credits from DIv 1 but without the limited time frame.
Maybe it could be a store that you could by varying levels of loot boxes from HE, gear set, named, and exotic, each with an appropriated cost. That way at least if you didn't get a drop you would still be making progress towards something.
