It's a random ban, they only picked some people and not all, clear as day. If they only banned those who only used it there would be many more people and fewer scapegoats.
That is what I have been complaining about since this ban wave my friend.

Also, you are confusing false positive with a false negative.

    False-positive - A person who didn't cheat got flagged
False-negative - A person who cheated but didn't get caught.
They said their algorithm had no false positives maybe if u watch the state of the game you would ****** know that *******.

Everybody jumping to conclusions and what you are doing is helping them lol you guys are a bunch of idiots and here's why:
    1. You are all assuming they are done, that this is the only ban they will do, they literally have been doing all in parts, what's to say they won't ban more? Well see soon enough.
    2. By saying, my friends or my clan blah blah blah cheated and didn't get banned, gives them an opportunity to look at that data and ban them as well, so your complaints is basically like saying " if im going down im taking you all with me "
    3. The BALLS to mention YouTubers. So, how does them not being ban affect you? It isn't fair correct? So now you know how it feels when you all abused something that was not intended, served your owned medicine. And i dont know who you all follow, people i follow on YouTube some got banned, some did videos reporting the bug didn't get banned.

You exploited and got caught. Accept your punishment and quit whining. If people like you who exploit are allowed to keep the progress and/or gear/stuff you earned via exploit, any other punishment short of an outright account ban from division 2 is short coming.

Personally, I think you all got off easy. I'd have given a 30 day suspension as well as the rollback if it were up to me.

As for the degree in which you benefited from the exploit, it doesn't matter. You still exploited. It's only fair to give everyone they catch the same punishment.

I'm one of those who got banned for it. I didn't do the dps glitch. I reminded my friends not to do it and I've been reporting those players I got matchmaked with that use the dps glitch. When WONY came out, and I had my rifle dps build (5 pc. red core with a blue core chest piece with unbreakable), I did the content on Heroic and did plenty of it solo. I matchmake because as time progressed, I had other builds like my CC build based on Macho King's CC build, modified TP tank build based off Widdz, etc. (a lot more prototypes but I made final builds along the way). When the whole ban wave came, I got banned. I was baffled, I didn't understand why I was banned but I chose to make an appeal and told my friends who were waiting for me I got banned. I got banned for the dps glitch but I didn't do the dps glitch. I wish I could offer proof but everything is in their system. Just today, I got a reply from support and they said they found activity I was using the glitch. I thought to myself "how did they come up with the conclusion that I used the dps glitch?". I'm scratching myself on the head on how to reverse my ban. I was able to farm a decent Providence holster and I was lucky to get god roll Airaldi gloves which I spent about 3 to 4 days to farm. And now that I'm banned, I'm going to have to farm again and, perhaps, refill my loadout slots (I was testing a new skill build during the dps glitch period). I'm still hoping support will look at my account. If they want, I'm willing to show them the loadouts I made. I'm one of those that got banned for not using the damage glitch and honestly, reading the posts from some players who chose to pass judgment that everyone who got banned deserved it is really disappointing. There are some of us who didn't do the glitch who are trying really hard to reverse the suspension. Sadly, we get an automated response and it's the response posted in the forums when the ban hammer hit. I'm just gonna wait if they resolve it but it looks like I'm gonna have to wait for the 7 days to lift. At least the activities that we did that they found suspicious and flagged us should've been showed to us. We want to dispute those and give proof, if we can (again, everything is in their system), that we didn't do the glitch.

I'm in the same situation as you. I only played with clan mates that were using It while I was playing CC or Healer. We did all 3 legendary strongholds and managed ti drop the Bighorn.
As far as I know they never used It again, but still some of us got banned (not everyone) myself included even though I never used it.
I got in contact with ubi-support and managed to talk with an operator: he said that they cannot lift the ban and/or undo the rollback because these are the indications from Ubisoft. He did not even have the possibility ti check if I was a real false-positive.
    We have just been used.
It Is the proof that they do not care about their community.

(Sorry for the bad english, I'm Italian)

The "balls"? The balls to what? To expect equal treatment? How can you be such scum to in a single post go "you got what you deserved" and "don't dare touch my YT daddy"? People who want to report bugs and exploits do so properly, in privacy, exactly to not spread their use. Anyone who made videos about the exploits only cared about the extra views they would get out of it, not about getting it fixed.

Before you go on the totally uncharacteristic tirade of saying I'm "salty" for getting banned, I'm not banned. I'm simply sickened by double standards, especially of this sort.

They did say that. They also said that people that were wrongly banned can get in touch with customer support and they can unban their accounts. But if you went to their customer service page, you'd notice they changed it from Customer support to Account support and anyone asking about their ban, deserved or not, would have 2 days added to their ban.

So the question is, if there is no false positives, why suggest there could be improper bans in the first place? Why is there youtubers admitting to using the exploit and not being banned?

Massive is lying to us. Exploiting or not, you should not be satisfied with their sleight of hand. Just because some may be unaffected by this issue, doesn't mean you won't be affected by the next. All players should be calling them out for the lies and holding their feet to the fire. They don't care about you or your gaming experience.

Yeah, you are misunderstanding what "false positive" means. You are not a false positive. You are a positive. Meaning you cheated, and you were flagged and sanctioned.

To those saying there are a lot of people saying they did not cheat and were banned... wow! Who would've thought? I've never heard anyone that is guilty go on the internet and claim their innocence. Yeah, right.

That is simply a political move. Rather than realize they did wrong, accept their week suspension and rolllback, learn from it, and press on with life...... instead they want to create the perception that Ubisoft massively (pun intended) screwed this up. I can't say that they did or did not. I'd need to see some evidence and data to back it up.

Lacking that, I just have to say that I trust Ubisoft more than I trust random dude on the internet. Especially when random dude on the internet has about 8 posts -- or at least 8 posts up to the sanctions were executed.

Having to discipline your customers is tricky businesses where one must tread carefully. You must be certain that their behaviors happened, and were serious enough to be detrimental to the game and justify alienating a portion of your customer base. I doubt they took that task lightly, and I seriously doubt they enjoyed it.

I am certain that they wholeheartedly wished that their playerbase had refrained from putting them in that position to have to sanction people.

No once creating and supporting these threads has given one ounce of thought to what they did and how it was bad for the game. Because if I had done it, I'd have apologized already. And I mean just that -- not and apology.... but then go one to explain how what I did was not wrong, or does not warrant the consequences.
