I explain everything here in a quick video. You can take this info and then figure out what best suits your play-style.

I would use Panther or Echelon for immersive mode. Echelon needs to remove auto lock/ aim as it's annoying and ineffective. Engineer if I'm going behemoth hunting but not much else. Classes need major buffs in pve. As is there's very little need to even select one.
Agreed. I only select a class to get some of the items that are locked to skills. I haven’t experimented using the shock pistol mostly because that constant notification when armed with a pistol drives me batty. If I could turn that off I’d probably consider using that classOriginally Posted by Hugo-FOU Go to original post
Me too but it's a shame the entire map is devoid of any ammo for it.... Why we can't craft class ammo is beyond me.Originally Posted by Hugo-FOU Go to original post
I stared off with the assault class advance difficulty because all ops don't go as planned,so with slim shadow + a stealth boost from my gear it was easy for me to engage and break contact when the **** hits the fan...now on immersive mode I play the same playstyle but with panther class, elite, because 100% stealth can't be obtained with assault class when gear score is turned off....my perks: slim shadow, feel no pain, and sensor hack,
my current loadout:
Magpul Masada
SC-IS
I personally play sharpshooter. While it gets a lot of grief for not being as powerful in PvE as the Panther, the sensor launcher and boost to reload speed are subtle things that work out well for me. Sensor launcher is great because it gives me a fix on enemies to see who I missed after my initial recon & shooting. Also great during infil to help determine paths needed.
If you're going with 2 primaries, I solidly recommend the G28 Scout Wolves and the Scorpio Scout; G28 Scout Wolves can be replaced with your favorite AR if you need to be able to spit more rounds down range, or the MK14.
Scorpio Scout (NOT Scorpio Scout Quiet) is actually probably the highest DPS long-range weapon in the game. Sure, the HTI, M82 and TAC 50 all have higher damage when rolling thunder is enabled (otherwise, the TAC 50 is tied with the Scorpio Scout), but the RoF on the Scorpio Scout means you can get more rounds down-range. Anti-personnel wise, you'll still take enemies out in 1 shot nearly every time (aside from when you've been discovered, but no big deal really to fire a second shot).
Not equipping Rolling Thunder means you can load additional perks to boost stealth; the damage boost is great and all, but becomes less critical if you play more strategically.
If you're going with just 1 primary, I'd suggest Scorpio Scout as your regular rifle, swapping out as needed for others (such as the MK 14 Assault if you've got it - very versatile rifle).
Nothing wrong with rocking Panther, though; you can still play a marksman role easily with it, and it's great if you've got a bad habit of missing and getting discovered a lot.
Finally, while not all bases give you a clear option for long range shooting, getting in to a tower, parachuting onto a grain bin, or even just sneaking in and occupying an enemy sniper's perch are all viable solutions. That's also why I always carry the G28 Scout Wolves; works great for those mid-range assaults.
I recommend the Echelon class, if you like getting up close and personal with the enemy.
The Sonar pulse has a decent range for detecting enemies and recharges very quickly with close range kills (one CQC kill fill the gauge 75%), so use it often.
The Shock Pistol takes down flying drones without alerting the enemy. Very useful for maintaining stealth, but it takes a bit of practice to hit a moving target and the range isn't great.
I've been using the Echelon class since it was added to the game. It's quite versatile and I think I'll be sticking with it, unless something better comes along.
