I have talked to a lot of my friends lately, that got banned, and thay seem to be under the impression that maybe the rollback is just their SHD levels or maybe some of the exotics they got illegitimately. I have to be the one to destroy their hopes.
First as a gaming veteran, since Atari days. I have never seen a rollback that targeted items only. It is a waste of time and the developer's are trying to punish you with negative reinforcement.its's upposed to make you feel cognitive dissonance so that you might think twice about it. You have to understand they also felt distress from the decision you could see it on Hammish's face when he tried to breach the subject on stream. Now the others seemed more angry about the whole online discussion.
Secondly people need to understand that they have NEVER done a ban in either of The Division games like this before. I played TD1 since beta and you couldn't even play in the DZ on PC for months because of the 3rd party tool users that could position hack and 1 shot everyone in the zone in 30 seconds, from DZ 1-5. They made the decision to punish everyone with a very well informed task force, that we hope was not reacting from emotion but because of pure analytical data. They banned the number of people they did because the system could bare it without destroying the game. I have 4 friends on my list that did participate in the glitch and got a lot of exotics, mostly decent rolls, and didn't get banned because they didn't use the turret they just healed and took the free wins and loot.
Finally on the point of fairness. To those saying that cheaters got what they deserved imagine for one sec that you accidentally got banned. For those pleading for leniency know that there will be none. And for those saying ban more people, why do you want to cause pain to others. What in your life is so horrible that you like to see others suffer. It makes me sad to see both sides arguing and being petty. Remember we are a community that play together and maybe playing together again after the temporary ban. We are agents/rogues and we play together not against each other; unless it's PVP time.
It has nothing to do with "causing pain to others," take your appeal to emotion fallacies elsewhere.Originally Posted by Yusosuki Go to original post
It's about fairness and equal treatment. Nothing breaks trust like double standards when it comes to "cOnTeNt CrEaToRs" for example.
Di you think that people dont feel anything from being called liars and cheats or are you a sociopath with no empathy. I posted thoughts on both sides if you took the time to read. The asking for more bans comes from both sides. Pro banners saying the band should be worse and the Anti banners saying they know others that should be banned. As I said I have friends that got away with A LOT of exotics and didn't get caught because they didn't touch the turrets.
And I addressed the ******** part of it. Problem?Originally Posted by Yusosuki Go to original post
Because the only way you learn from your mistakes is to suffer through them.
Do you know why the Recidivism rate in American prisons is nearly 50%? They ( criminals ) don't consider jail punishment.
Compared to Recidivism Rate in Saudi Arabia which is 3%
The Roll back is EXACTLY what was needed.
A Temp ban means nothing - you get to keep everything, which is why banned players will keep doing the same thing over.
Roll Back now will force anyone thinking about glitching in the future have PTSD and just run away the second they hear the word glitch.
If you don't enforce rules equally, fairly and justly. That is was you get shattered community and broken game. If you take a moment to think about what you have just said, I get back after 1 week to find all progress that I earned fairly is taken away from me because, I jumped in the boat of exploiters on March 27, while others who have been glitching since the beginning and escaped the punishment get to keep their progress and rewards, and think for a moment that I'll return back and accept these terms, without resistance. I'm sorry my friend but your approach is flawed.Originally Posted by Yusosuki Go to original post
2nd now for your optimistic approach that people who were just a couple of scape goats are returning back to your broken game after the ban, then my friend you are dilliousnal.
Agent the argument for why we have repeat criminals cannot be directly correlated to the punishment. Studies actually find that with increased training and education durring imprisonment that 86% don't become repeat offenders. But not all criminals choose to better themselves or are given the opportunity in today's privately run prisons and jails.
Bloody, sorry not trying to be rude. It is late and we have been locked down for 2 weeks now and I miss stimulating conversation. Your opinion is valid. I edited my statement.Originally Posted by xBloodySin Go to original post
I don't agree with all of your points, but it's definitely nice to see a post that doesn't fall exclusively into one of the two camps for a change.
I've seen that too. It's wishful thinking based on a misinterpretation of what was said. The official announcement included this statement:Originally Posted by Yusosuki Go to original post
In addition, the sanctioned players accounts will be rolled back to a save from March 17th, causing all account progress gained during this period to be reset.
The term "account rollback to a save from March 17th" makes clear that the rollback will affect the entire account, and that the current data will be replaced with a save from March 17th. Nothing that was changed afterwards - items, SHD levels, credits, etc. - can remain because none of those changes would be present in a save from March 17th.
The wishful thinking is that "all account progress" does not mean "all changes to the account", but just "all leveling progress", which makes no sense given the first part of the sentence. But people see what they want to see.
Hey, almost the same here! I started with the pre-Atari consoles (the ones where the console was just a power supply and controllers, and all the chips were on the cartridges), Feels kinda weird when I compare games like "Tank Combat" to Division 2.Originally Posted by Yusosuki Go to original post![]()
