This manhunt has been a huge letdown. After Keener made a big deal out of having these cells of rogue agents and Faye Lau saying this will bring The Division to it's knees, it turns out, this cell of Rogue agents don't appear to be any real threat at all. They basically came to D.C just to hang out at some predetermined destination and wait for The Division to come kill them. They don't feel like a threat. They don't feel like they are doing any damage. They're not hurting anybody. They're just hanging out, larping. It doesn't have to be like this. I think there is a way to make them feel dangerous without creating an entire new mission in a new location for each one of them.
There are 9 classified assignment locations and each one of them are gorgeous. However, Classified assignments have no replayability so these locations are all being wasted. These locations could be used for the manhunts. These locations could be used to make the rogue agents feel like a real threat. With just a few lines of dialogue, a changeout of the enemies and the placement of a few dead JTF/Division agent corpses, you can make it feel like these rogue agents are doing some actual damage to The Division and JTF. For example, this weeks target Venus, ambushed a JTF patrol that was accompanied by a Division agent. Venus kills the JTF patrol and captures The Division agent and tortures him for information on The white house defenses, patrol shifts etc. The agent puts out a distress signal just before he is captured and we go in to rescue him and kill Venus. Before Venus dies, she gets the information she beat out of the agent, out to the rest of the cell and just like that, it feels like this cell of Rogue agents is an actual danger to JTF and The Division.
Maybe i'm wrong but it seems like this would be doable and it would be light years better than killing them in some meaningless bounty where they are just sitting there, not doing any harm, not presenting any danger, just waiting for us to show up and kill them.
Not a bad idea, but...not everyone has access to the classified missions (myself for one).
I'd actually love to purchase them, but it seems the Y1 pass that they were a part of is no longer available for individual sale. I'd guess that they're planning on eventually doing so, in which case there's no way they're gong to give that content away for free to everyone (even though it would make our manhunt/s considerably more interesting).
This is a brilliant idea.
Ive redone some of the CA’s since gear 2.0 and I was disappointed we couldn’t do any mode other than story. These locations are really good and going to waste. Do something with them. I wouldn’t even mind if they became heroic bounty areas also. Just do something with them.
I except they are ‘exclusive content’ but that train has sailed.
I don't necessarily share the criticism of the current manhunt, but I like the idea of giving the Classified Assignments a better use. Currently there is indeed no reason to replay these missions once you've completed them and got all the collectibles and cosmetics.
I think the argument "but they are exclusive content" has less validity now that you can't actually purchase the Y1 Pass any more. Making these missions available to everyone would not cut into Ubisoft's revenue if there is no purchasable product that includes them.
That's the key. I'd be surprised if they didn't, at some point, figure out a way to repackage these and turn around and make them available for sale again. I'd love to be wrong, and have them be made available to all for free, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't consider buying them if the price was right (somewhere in the $10 range maybe).Originally Posted by Psyringe Go to original post
They could just release the classified assignments to everyone for free with the next season pass or atleast the manhunt version of the classified assignments.Originally Posted by Trippul G Go to original post
I agree the manhunt event is a letdown. The idea of going after rogue agents and having them pop up at random times is GREAT but as you said the ones we go after in the manhunt are literally just loitering around a bunch of trash and park benches and not really causing a threat... we might as well conserve ammunition.
I think you should have to build up to getting enough intel on the rogue agent to track them down and then one of the main missions or strongholds becomes their base and they can add in some simple elements or a theme where you have to stop that agent because they are trying to launch a missile or hack into a network or whatever.
Since you mention the classified assignments, it does beg the question why they put so much time into these beautifully crafted stages that actually have some semblance of a story and they have ZERO replayability...
