I know a lot of people think the Tiandi is pretty low tier, but I disagree, at least for myself. Really good Tiandis who know how to utilize the character efficiently always destroy me. My weakness is mainly their really elongated dodge attack, (both the Tiandi and the Jang Jung have it) I always have to sit there and wait to see if they decide to follow through with it, switch directions or cancel it because of the elongated invincibility frames that the attack has. Pretty much all good Tiandis spam it 'cause it's arguably the Tiandi's best mix up. That, and their ability to cancel a palm strike into an undodgeable attack is usually too fast for me to counter even when I make the correct guess half the time.
So, who's got some good tips?
Thanks

Two ways to improve against any heroes. For example, against tiandi:
A: Pick tiandi, play tiandi, watch some guides. You will understand him more this way.
B: Ask someone who is good with tiandi to duel with you. Ask him to explain his moves/mixups, their restrictions, how people usually counter him. You will understand him more this way.
Watching some high level tiandi duels might also help.
He is not a top tier duelist, with some practice, he should be beatable if your levels are roughly the same.
Palm strike isn't cancelable, the kick bash is, and it's super slow, so you can be patient and wait a little bit in the animation to dodge it and punish him for it, and if you have a dodge attack even better.Originally Posted by Mighty_Mackerel Go to original post
Guardbreak any tiandi using his dodge heavy, if you don't want to do that, note, anything he does after that, he's going to be low stamina. So use that to your advantage.
In neutral, don't try to dodge or run from him, he'll punish you for it, if you run out of stamina or are low, it's better just to hold block and wait for a window of opportunity to attack. Hard to run from him unless he's out of stamina, hope it helps gL
His dodge heavy doesn't have elongated I frames. IIRC it only has like 300ms. What mainly makes that move dodge attacks is purely his hitbox moving. If you have a decent option select zone move you can just use this to interrupt him mid dodge. You also can bait the "dodge on red" style via buffering heavy feint into GB. His kick is slow and is almost never a threat and only comes after a heavy. If you have a dodge attack you can punish it.
Palm strike is just a thing you'll have to build muscle memory for in order to beat.
