I have the same problem.
Downloaded from Epic store.
Tried to launch through Ubisoft's launcher.
Pointed to the installation folder Epic created.
Ubisoft launcher says there is a problem and that it needs to validate files.
It starts downloading the game a second time.
After the second download still cannot launch the game as it is looking for some DLLs.
Same problem with the Wildlands game too.
I did not have time further troubleshoot because trying it again will take another hour and eat another 100GB of my data plan.
So devs reading this:
We got a ton of games from Steam, Epic, and Twitch. We have dealt with "buy from store, and install a launcher" with other companies. We have now done this enough to know when your stuff is broken. This is broken.
If you cannot fix and post something concrete here, you will get refunds and people avoiding your launcher in the future.
Hey ManicTurk, welcome to forums and sorry to hear about this.
Just to double-check, have you had a chance to try all of the steps that have been mentioned in the thread or is it just the ones you've mentioned?
As far as your feedback is concerned, I will ensure this gets forwarded accordingly.
I read the whole thread and there is no organized post with steps to try there. It would be appreciated if you actually wrote what should we do instead of sending people to re-read all pages again to find a solution for a problem that you were "looking into" for over half a year.Originally Posted by Ubi-Karl Go to original post
Ubisoft can you please sort this out, it has been close to a year and nothing seems to be happening? I've just bought both Ghost Recon games on Epic and I have the same problem. There is currently a sale on so no doubt more people will be having this problem. I've tried the solutions here and they don't seem to be working, I get an error stating the files cant be validated.
After completely reinstalling AND accepting downloading twice and taking twice the space, the game now runs. It is still not playable because of the autosave stutter issue already mentioned in these forums. My system is well capable or running it, benchmarks fine, has it installed on SSD, has all the updates, but gets these huge FPS drops for a few seconds frequently in the game. I tried all the vsync, scaling, framerate tricks on forums, and after an evening wasted, I am giving up on the game and probably Ubisoft. Most issues have been well documented here for months and years. I went through them and nothing seems fixed in 2020.Originally Posted by Ubi-Karl Go to original post
Hello guys,
Thank you for continuing to update the thread - sorry to hear some of you are encountering this.
For those of you that haven't done so already, please try the steps in this guide to manually change the installation patch.
In the meantime, this issue is still being investigated. We'll update the thread with any updates or information, when it's available
